I think she was abducted and the phone was left as a decoy. There is someone who knows what happened. But as of 2023 no one yet knows how to get dogs to talk.

I did read something like this theory, and apparently there’s a caravan park site in close proximity, and she owned a caravan or something

Thing is how would the abductor know she’d be there at that exact time, and how would they know the meeting was on mute that she was on while on her phone, as she would of had headphones in. So many variables and it’s all been done in apparently 15-20 mins unless the person who found the stuff was in on it. Also if abducted why didn’t the dog go crazy

Seems way too quick, and crazy kidnapping someone in general but let alone that early in the morning in broad daylight, and when there’s so many cameras people even ring door bell cameras about (albeit I assume the caravan park wouldn’t have any)

I don’t know the more I read and the more I think about it the more confusing it becomes.

You believed the whole falling in the river thing when there was absolutely no evidence to support it

She is as fit as fiddle and a strong swimmer so no she didn't just fall into the river.

Not to mention this river at a snails pace.

She's either been abducted or chosen to disappear by choice,

Given the situation abduction looks the obvious conclusion.

How the police ruled out a 3rd party on day 1 is just outrageous Because they didn't think a crime had been committed they missed out on a lot of forensics.

Just a mess.

Saw something the other day saying the husband wasn't involved as he was at home. He could've paid someone or could be in cahoots with someone.

Its like an adult Maddie Mcann.

My money is on bad initial police work here and we’re already starting at a disadvantage because of it.

that's already been established, the didn't think a crime had happened so didn't treat the disappearance site as a crime scene

Is abduction likely? They would have had to take her a fair distance at a time there were quite a few people about with her making no noise. And the dog didn't follow? And the phone just left on the bench? Any half decent abductor would have cleared these two obvious giveaways that she was missing.

I think she is in the river.

I know, but I don’t think we can establish enough facts at this stage because of that initial faaack up.

I can’t get behind the river theory - she could easily get out again, unless she has hit her head somehow. But how has she fallen in the river in the first place, she was sat at a bench on a conference call - what’s made her get up and then fall in the river?

If it’s an abduction then it’s about as brazen as they come - broad daylight, busy period of the day, she is on a call, she has a dog with her. If it was planned you would never pick this moment, which means it’s more likely unplanned - those ones rarely ever happen without leaving a trail of clues.

So does she leave of her own accord. Why would she choose to leave at that moment? Did she have issues that affected her that much? Why bring the dog only to then abandon it at the river?

I don’t think any make sense based on what we know.

Maybe she hanged her head or did somehow fall in, get out but suffer cold water shock - wander aimlessly and then suffer hypothermia and we just haven’t found her yet.

I’m rambling now, it’s impossible to conclude anything on the paltry info we have

Happened before!

Her and her husband both worked from home I believe. Cabin fever?

They had an expert on one of the news channels a few days ago and he said that in his experience bodies in rivers rarely travel more than a few yards from where they go in the water.

At the time I thought why on earth are the police ruling out skulduggery and they really need to speak to this fella. If they don't find her body in the river the police are going to quite rightly get crucified for their handling of this case.

interesting, i've noticed that the guardian are borderline obsessed with the case, giving a missing person case a degree of coverage not seen since the mccann one, but i'd assumed that was just them being weird.

which does invite the question of why, when people go missing all the time, everyone seems to care so much about this one.

posted on 7/2/23

Well it's an especially interesting case in the sense that it seems impossible that she is untraceable.

White, middle class Woman, Mother, Wife - and at the heart of it all is a mystery.

Unfortunately, skin colour does very much play a part in what missing person cases receive mass media. If you look at the US - Native American Women go missing wouldn’t even get a paragraph in a newspaper 10 years ago, it’s very sad

posted on 7/2/23

Yeah it's like a role reversal of cop shootings. More white people in the US are killed by cop shootings, especially unarmed, but all you hear about is black shootings.

It is very strange, but as a fisherman I can tell you that rivers like that can have large over hanging ledges under the water, deep crevices etc, so if she went into the river for whatever reason, it is possible her body is is lodged in one of these dark places where it is difficult to see. Hopefully this sonar search can say for certain one way or another.

It is also possible she has been abducted, there are enough weirdos about, and serial offenders will be experienced at evading detection.

It is very odd, something does not quite add up, it could be Claudia Lawrence all over again.
