Top coaches get big jobs and win trophies.

There are numerous examples of coaches doing a good job at 2nd and 3rd tier clubs.

Personally I think he was exceptionally lucky to have Kane come through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And also on the Kane comment Robbing that could be applied to various managers with the players they ‘inherited’

Pep with his Barca team
Ancellotti with a few clubs
Fergie with class of 96

Fact is good managers make good players great

Please don't mention Poch in the same breath as Fergie, Zidane and Pep. It's laughable.

Yeah that was precisely my point. They played for teams expected to be challenging for CL. And in their first posts went to said top clubs and done what was expected to challenge for the biggest trophies.

I am not comparing Poch to any. Just saying they inherited many top players. But it is never used to lesser their achievements. Continue bending words.

Fergie inherited Mark Robins and Dion Dublin in a squad that drank 10 pints a night.

I'm no fan of the man but c'mon.

Yes but you can’t apply to rule to Pochettino with Kane and not apply to other managers.

Every manager strikes gold with players from time to time. Every manager inherits duds, Holtby, Carroll, Fryers, naughton were all in his first 11 picked

But all those managers have won the biggest prize in football at least twice... Poch couldn't win the league Cup.

You're comparing apples and oranfes snd God knows why as Poch has had a bang average management career.

If we are to get Poch back, and I don't know how to feel about it (kind of half happy and half feeling it'd be a heart over head appointment), then there better be more support in the transfer windows this time round. None of these half measures and no treating Poch like he's easier to please just because he isn't Conte. In fact Poch needs to be more demanding himself and get Baldy to pull his finger out. It should be a condition Poch has for taking the job.

We are going in circles here. I am not comparing Poch with any of them.

Just simply stating that all managers inherit good and bad players.

Pochettino has improved every club he has been at bar PSG. Where he done what Tuchel, Emery, Blanc done before him and won the league.

If he was to get a traditionally big club there is no doubt in my mind he would win trophies.

He has made relegation teams, mid table clubs. And a Europa league club a CL club.

I don't think Zidane even deserves to be in the company of Pep and Fergie yet. Only been managing for 5 years and even though he's won a lot in that time, it was at Real Madrid.

He would join us if it were offered, no doubt, but the rumour is that Ancelotti is leaving Real in the summer and Perez is still a huge Poch fan, despite his PSG experience. If it's a straight fight between the two clubs, we'll obviously lose. He'd go there in a heartbeat. Apparently it's either him or Tuchel for the Real job so if Levy wants his man, he's going to have to act fast and agree a deal now rather than wait until the summer. Levy will know what Conte's plans are by now so I'm sure if he is going, our next manager will already be agreed.

There was a pic Poch posted yesterday of his backroom staff and Steve Hitchen having a meal together in London. He's obviously settled here. Hopefully that swings things our way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Hitchen left Spurs last year!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know. It was just a catch up with old mates. No representative from Spurs was there.

And since you’re convoluting my words.

Go on and tell me which mangers done a good job at 2nd or 3rd tier jobs…

I don’t include domestic cups, well because Portsmouth and Wigan won those and it did sweet FA for the clubs or that manager. Only one I know of is Ranieri and Leicester.

He did not bankrupt Portsmouth ffs.

Brendan Rogers, Roberto Martinez and I really could go on.

I don't know why I'm bothering though, it's pretty clear you'll say anything.

So I’ll take your numerous examples as zilch

Rodgers inherited a PL winning team and won an FA cup, massive kudos.

Martinez is a beacon of managerial intellect.

So yeah the two I already mentioned.

Like I said, zilch.

You I listed you three, with two not that impressive imo.

It was you that stated numerous

And like I said the only time a 2nd or 3rd tier team exceeded all expectations was Ranieri and Leicester.

Rafa and Houllier managed Liverpool who with their size and reach are simply expected to win things.

You don't think Martinez, Houllier and Rafa exceeded expectations?

Martinez won the FA Cup with fvcking Wigan

Rafa won La Liga with Valencia and made Djime Traore a CL winner.

Houllier won a treble with Danny Milurphy in midfield.

As said, you'll say anything but I'm now also at the point where I don't think you'll know what you're talking about.

Have a nice day.

Poch was a Levy Yes man. So nothing changes. Also if Poch were to return, both Davies and Dier would be signing new 5 year Contracts.

Need a complete change going forward.

posted on 14/2/23

Sandy, that’s down to Levy offering those contracts. Not Pochettino. Pochettino wanted “new furniture”, and he didn’t get it. Levy is to blame for the collapse of Pochettino’s Tottenham 100%
