should be a decent game, two terrible teams in the league meet each other.

poor teams doesnt equate to poor games, should be a decent watch with a lot at stake for both teams

Hoping Roca is fit and we go for a 3 man midfield of Adams, Mckennie and Roca.

Depends if we miss a hatful of chances again, should beat these, but Dyche will have em fired up

Seems the crap whodunnit writes is confusing, no wonder he's still searching!..

Noticed on the clubs training video that there was no Sinisterra, Cooper, Roca or Adams .....
We need Adams fit, and him not in the training highlights is a worry.

Must win game. If we can't beat these, who are we gonna beat?

2-2

This is a big step up for Skubala. Yes, the players like him, but can he generate the momentum, and even the ferocity, to shift this team? We need to be hungry and battle ready. Goodison will be a cauldron and I wonder how some of our players will deal with this. A bad decision, a poor goal, a loss of nerve, and that could leave us on a knife edge. Skoobs is, tactically, miles ahead of Marsch, but we need that iron in the soul to make this game a defining moment in our season.
Looking at the squads, we seem to be miles ahead. ThEy are without DCL. They have sold Gordon and Richarlison. Tarky, Coady and Coleman are not great defenders. Awobi can cause problems, Ducoure and Onana are Dyche-style players.
We know what to expect. Lots of high balls into the box, and a fair amount of $hithousing in the middle of the pitch. But Everton have only scored 16 goals this season and Skoobs has made us more resilient at the back, and up front, we have players who can hurt them.
We are conceding an average of two a game and I can’t see that changing at Goodison. But I do think that we can score goals and I am going for 3-2 to the mighty Whites, just because all of our wins require superhuman courage and last-minute heroics. Harrison to grab a brace and Bamford to finally figure out where the net is.

I’ve heard this a lot recently, Bielsa was taking Leeds down…but we weren’t in the bottom 3, he had players coming back from injury and easier games coming up…yet they want you to digest Bielsa was taking us down.
Dyche was fired with Burnley having been in the bottom 3 all season and 4 points adrift. I thought they were doomed, but with the U23 coach they went on an incredible run and only for Jesse’s 7 points won at the death we somehow stayed up…but I don’t hear the same narrative for Dyche, the media pump him up like he’s some Messiah, and after beating Arsenal on his first game they made it sound like job done. We are overdue spanking someone…4-1 Leeds!

"I’ve heard this a lot recently, Bielsa was taking Leeds down…but we weren’t in the bottom 3, he had players coming back from injury and easier games coming up…yet they want you to digest Bielsa was taking us down."

That's something that got me, I said all along and I still think it, we would not have gone down with Bielsa!..

But, unfortunately, that's something we never found out!..

But then like now, its our fan base that're giving the same old same, we have a bunch off players without a full time manager, but our stand in's got those players playing good football and not shaming themselves, there is no reason why these players with the 3 in charge can't keep us up!..

There are teams around us that have got just as much to do, we just have to concentrate on our team and let the players do the rest!..

First priority, keep it tight at the back. If the Toffees can be held for the first half-hour ( and we held out ManU , a much better side than Everton, for 300+ minutes of the 360 double-header, so it's perfectly possible ) then they'll get a bit worried, maybe? Could have opportunities for Gnonto and Summerville on the break. Discipline and cool heads essential, it'll be no surprise if the ref shows a bit of bias

We really need to get something from this game. Lose and there is so much pressure at Elland Rd next week. The decision to stick with Skubes will already look like a massive mistake.

Win today and we will be in a great mood against Southampton. Ride that and pick up more points and sticking with Skubes will look genius.

The thing is with football that the difference between those two scenarios is so fine. It could come down to luck rather than judgement.

Let’s hope luck is on our side for once.

Er, didn’t we hold out for 62 of the 180 minutes???
Tho maths has never been my strong point…

Thanks once again for doing the match day thread, Highlandwhite.

It's going to be nitty and gritty, today, lots of schytehousing, very physical no doubt, not very pretty and just a bit desperate at times

BUT

We have a Willy Gnonto and they don't. His class will hopefully make all the difference.

COME ON LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS!

If Everton are in crisis, what does that make us? At least they've got a proper manager while we've got a 5 a side guy with less experience than Hockaday. Lose today and it's good night Vienna.
