And with our small squad we really have needed these players to be able to adapt.
But I doubt whether any of them (other than maybe Fozzie) will stay in their respective new positions permanently. Most players rightly say they will play wherever the gaffer asks them to play but deep down I suspect they would much prefer to stick with their "natural" positions. I seem to recall other players from other clubs publicly stating that they did not wish to be regarded as "utility" players (eg Madely of Leeds - remember him?)
But yes, all power to those Derby lads who have fitted in so well in unlikely positions and all credit to the coaches for helping them do it.
I think Corey's efforts often go under the radar, to the extent that we really havent missed Nathan Byrne
Yes, I remember Paul Madeley. What was his natural position ? Might have been considered a DM these days ?
I see Dickie Davies has died, may I show a typical clip of one of his programmes for our younger viewers..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoyNoWjN60Q
I totally agree about Smith, Ang. He is so reliable and rarely makes a mistake. OK, so his crosses are not always that good but given the circumstances that is understandable.
Don't know what Madeley's preferred position was because he was moved around so much. (By the way I'm reading "The Damned United" again and had forgotten what a brilliant book it is. The film was nowhere near as good. If the book is accurate then I have to conclude that Cloughie was his own worst enemy and gave himself no chance of succeeding with Leeds or getting the England job. If he insisted on shooting his mouth off (even if he was right in his diatribes) he should have been a sports writer or politician. If only he'd calmed down a bit and given up the booze and cigs who knows how much more he may have achieved.

Yes I remember Madeley... who's Nathan Byrne ???
Where's Nathan Byrne?
Sometimes, by accident, you end up playing a different position and discover you're a natural.
Sibley, for me, is better at LB than where ever it was he played up front.
I hear Chuck Norris recently went to the Virgin Islands....apparently they now just call them "The Islands"....
Here's one for Uncle Tom and, maybe, Ang.
UT, a few days ago you reported that a young lad had been signed for the U23s, from Ireland and of Nigerian descent. I have not been able to find any confirmation of this. Can you enlarge?

Looks like he made his first app for the u21s as a sub yesterday in the 1-1 draw at Sunderland.
Modric would make a good team mate for McGoldrick!
Thanks Desi and Ang. Let's hope he turns out as well as Feste.

Motty has joined him in that studio in the sky.
You've got that completely wrong, Spart, as per. Motty used to frequent the gantry but not the studio.
