For me its not like a very very good Arsenal team are having a blip like in years gone by, its more like a much weakened Arsenal team are on the rocks and there is no guarantee that they will turn it around.

I think that this different perception means that you will lose your fear factor. Teams see your defensive weakness and are more likely to have a go. Its brutal in the EPL and teams will take advantage...Spurs were no better than ok and still created 6 golden chances to score.
