So you are worried we are all about to be stealthily made law breakers, but can't say which laws.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've fallen ass backwards into the point I was making.
Yes, I am worried what this government, with it's ever changing PMs and ideologues, is capable of doing in the near future, especially when it comes to the rights of people who might not agree with their values.
You somehow expect me to have a ready made list of things they might turn into a crime... That's not possible, for obvious reasons... But we only need look to the USA for a potential roadmap... Abortion a crime, LGBTQ rights starting to get dismantled etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect you to have a list of the laws YOU believe we are going to be committing without our knowledge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's on you for being to thick to being able to follow a more abstract conversation about how governments with too much power can change laws to suit their agendas.

To be honest I didn’t have sympathy for the killers of James Bulger either. Not everything can be forgiven because “they were just a kid”.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They didn't strip him of his citizenship, they gave him a new identity instead.
My take on this.
The Government is in a catch 22 situation really due to its actions in the first place.
She should not be stripped of her citizenship. However she should be put in detention until she has been tried for treason and whatever her crimes are.
Under no circumstance should she be free to do what she wants, as she may well want to blow herself up and as many of us as she can take with her.
The Government, despite being a bunch of s has a duty to protect its citizens from her.

Correct. The reality is that we don’t know if she represents a threat. Her family have suggested she hasn’t shown genuine remorse, nor has she convinced a lot of people of her future good intention. Her entry into this country isn’t worth the risk.

Just out of interest should we strip citizenship from every UK citizen who has committed terror offences, or just the little girls who get groomed and raped?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
While we're at it, let's let off this guy, who at 15 stabbed in the heart killing a man who confronted a group of youths making trouble in as Asda car park. I'm sure he has some sad back story that excuses his behaviour at 15.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-64661025
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, irrelevant. Feel free to answer the question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its a question designed to make the person who answered it look bad. Because you could also ask: should we strip citizenship from every UK citizen who has committed terror offences, or this person who is a terrorist with dual citizenship?
Admin, do the right thing. Again.
TIA
What is so hard about the concept of wanting to see our citizens punished for the crimes they have committed but not wanting them stripped of their citizenship, made stateless and foisted upon another country?
Like, why is that so hard if you're not a massive racist?

She can both be the victim of grooming and rape as a 15 year old and also have been involved in and should stand trial for her role as part of ISIS. I’d have her back in the UK, standing trial, if found guilty or a threat to the public imprisoned until that threat can be effectively managed in the community.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you be happy to pay for her travel, accommodation, the court case and the cost of her imprisonment/ housing after any trial?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, in the sense that she, like anyone, should be given due process.

I’m not sure how anyone can truly be of the opinion that “she gets what she deserves” when they can’t really know what that is, given she hasn’t had a proper trial.
It’s essentially do you trust that the info Javid has means that he is justified in his actions. Personally, I doubt it and had a reporter not found Begum in the first place, I think she’d have been back here a while ago like others were.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
given to what she has already openly admitted to its just a case of how much more he was involved in that requires trial for people to judge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it isn’t, there would have potentially been a lot more than that, that was the findings of the court judgment today too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
true but we know she is guilty you might need to know every thing she is guilty of which you wont as she also was quoted as saying "We tried so hard to clear up our tracks"
so you will never know the full extent and we do know enough to make judgments just now IMO.
She has admitted to plenty already
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s still not the point though, it’s not just about her guilt and even so that level of guilt can’t be fully assessed without a proper trial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so then never judge her cos most likely we will never find out everything she done ? she said herself she covered up her tracks. A proper trial will not show her full level of guilt it will only judge her on the stuff they can find out.
SO like I said we can judge her on the stuff she has admitted which is what we are doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But not when she said she was raped? Seems to me like you’re picking and choosing what bits you want to believe.

This child was literally groomed, trafficked and raped. I do find the lack of empathy weird.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be honest I didn’t have sympathy for the killers of James Bulger either. Not everything can be forgiven because “they were just a kid”.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They didn't strip him of his citizenship, they gave him a new identity instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you have been unhappy had they done so (had they had grounds)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, obviously.

Why?

My take on this.
The Government is in a catch 22 situation really due to its actions in the first place.
She should not be stripped of her citizenship. However she should be put in detention until she has been tried for treason and whatever her crimes are.
Under no circumstance should she be free to do what she wants, as she may well want to blow herself up and as many of us as she can take with her.
The Government, despite being a bunch ofs has a duty to protect its citizens from her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, irrelevant. Feel free to answer the question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its a question designed to make the person who answered it look bad. Because you could also ask: should we strip citizenship from every UK citizen who has committed terror offences, or this person who is a terrorist with dual citizenship?

“Citizenship is automatically passed down by descent if your parent is a citizen, and you can be a dual citizen until 21. Therefore Begum never needed to apply.”
If I remember correctly, the Bangladeshi govt’s argument was that you *can* be a dual citizen until 21, but she never applied to be/formalised that citizenship. i.e. it is a right to be bestowed as such *when requested* by a foreign national.
Not everyone born outside Bangladesh to Bangladeshi parents *is* automatically a Bangladeshi citizen. They just have the right to automatically *become* one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Commission has expressed its view.
We'll see what the Court of Appeal and (if necessary) the Supreme Court and ECHR have to say on the matter in due course.
