King of the commentators.
Sad news. I do hope he is buried in his sheepskin coat.
Word legend is used too much in football. Motson is def a legend though and never won a title or kicked a ball in a cup football.
John Motson = football. RIP
Ah no.. not Motty.
Thanks for the Memories.
The BBC had two legends at the same time. Barry Davis and Motty were sublime. Nobody today comes close to them.
The best. Him and Trevor Brooking were the GOAT combo. 🌹
End of an great era in TV football commentary..
Kenneth Wolstenholme, Brian Moore, David Coleman, Barry Davies (now retired), and Motty.
It isnt until you listen to some of the current lot that you appreciate how good these guys were at describing football matches.

Always knew you heard voices siz
Motty
He loved his job, which showed in his boyish enthusiasm
Motty for his commentary and James Alexander Gordon reading the results were the voice of football for me.
R.I.P.
I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times at Spurs and he was an absolute gentleman.
Sad day
R I P Motty.
