Tip of the hat to Mclarens engineers, mechanics and team back at base in the factory.

Mercedes were expected to find pace, world champion team and resources.
McLaren is out of the blue, out from the depths of obscurity. Jump from midfield to challenging the leading team is not normal, during a season.

Ok so you saying McLaren are the Arsenal.
Improved out of nowhere, but still won’t win shiiitt.
Got ya

Can't watch the race. Watching oppenheimer instead. Will catch the replay.
Let's gooooo max what a start, nightmare for Hamilton
Zhou playing skittles at the start of a Hungarian Grand Prix. Must have learnt that from his teammate.
Would be good to Piastri get a deserved podium, he's deserved one. Perez back in this race possibly.
Some incredible stops today
Is annoying that Croft & Kravitz are a few seconds ahead of the stream. They ruin the pits and take away any jeopardy
Expect red bull to fly away at spa and monza this Nishane probably their worst track the way their car is built
That Mclaren upgrade which took them from the back of the grid to challenging red bull is suspect.
Sprint race weekend. Max takes 5-grid penalty for race on Sunday.
Mercedes come with significant performance upgrades (new floor, sidepods, inlets, rear wing, floor edge), the 🚀 ship must be stopped.
Rain might scupper any chance of seeing the full potential of the updates.
Fair few teams will take engine penalties this weekend at Spa or after the summer break Italian Grand Prix. Power sensitivity tracks.
Going to be an interesting weekend indeed. I still find Mclaren suspect, never in the history of F1 has an upgrade brought a team from the back to the front of the pack.

Or will turn them up to get a jump on those that turn them down.
Say for eg Williams, they have a slippery god top speed car and will be targeting circuits like Spa and Monza, it would make sense for them to turn down at other circuits where their car is less suited to try and score bigger points at circuits that suits their car.

Unless they had some really stupid and obvious flaw that they fixed. Maybe they had been leaving the handbrake on?

Ferarri got caught cheating as well with their fuel supply, so maybe something will turn up towards the end of the season. Russell made comments that the improvement is suspect. I assume F1 will be looking closely at McLaren at this point. But you may well be right and it is a genuine fix. If so, very impressive.
It is also notable that RB's punishment is now starting to show. I dont think they wont be caught anymore, but the wind tunnel reduction is now hampering their development and teams are catching up, albeit too late.
Interesting conditions in Belgium. Wonder if we'll see anything before Sunday.
