BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag came into the media room to do his post-match press conference.

He spent around 12 minutes answering questions, then got up to leave - and didn't take the trophy with him.

He had to be called back to get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would have been a good fit for Spurs then. They always leave without the trophy as well.

That’s a good one to be fair

To be fair to Levy, if I’d interviewed him, I’d have got strange vibes too. He seems like he’s on the scale a little bit, like a mild autism or Asperger’s. He just seems awkward. That said, I’d have taken a punt on him all day long.

Pen Haag should be winning trophies at Penited, he`s got a team full of expensive signings on mega wages, has the officials dragging his team along and the media desperate for it to happen.

Yeah, Levy has always been like that.

One of the signs of being on the spectrum is being ritualistic with numbers. Which is probably why he's happy counting all the money coming through the doors at Spurs, then stockpiling it so he can count it again.

Wow we got Conte and still ain't won anything. Lets not be bitter.

Some fans want it all. TEN Hag got Casemiro, Varane, Antony, Martinez. He wouldn't get those if he joined Spurs so doubt he would be doing any better than Stellini
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a really important point.

United still underperforming… although heading in the right direction.

Spurs probably about where they should be… though clearly should have a more recent trophy.

Sky and the Beeb are going to be blowing their load over him now. They were already getting stiffy's over him the past few months.
The media love in for Man Utd and everyone concerned is back on

Would have been a great appointment for Spurs. Was a massive success at Ajax domestically & in the CL considering he had a limited spend and lost his best players every season. United will do well with him in chrage... He's his own man !

Erik ten Hag has ruled himself out of the running to become the next Tottenham manager by signing a new contract with Ajax. Ten Hag had been seen as the frontrunner to replace Jose Mourinho at Spurs, but has now committed his future to the Dutch club.

We did approach and offer him the job, he decided to stay at Ajax.
So at no stage was he thought of as not good enough for us. But hey, it’s easy to make up narrative to suit your own agenda!

He was approached by Spurs but signed a new contract with Ajax and we went for Conte after that.

GeniusG

That’s the public line but most people with inside knowledge, of which I’m definitely not one 😂, seemed to suggest he was definitely interviewed. He signed the new Ajax deal after we rejected him.

Would he have got 250m to spend in his first summer as manager though?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He had to spend that to try and compete with the greatest side to ever play football, and City
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But he won't have got that money at Spurs

Not going to lie, I’d take him over Nuno AND Conte.

Yes it wasn't years and hundreds of millions of investment that transformed United, it's ETH in one season

If he'd have come here he'd be getting the same bashing Conte is getting

Our fans are embarrassing
