Yesterday was 4 years to the day since Lennon returned v Hearts at Tynecastle.

It popped up on my FB memories. Rodgers quitting at the drop of a hat and us scrambling for a replacement.

Took the lead then Ajer gave away a daft penalty. Thought we were going to draw and allow Rangers into the title race.

Edouard 92nd minute winner right in front of us. NNH who had been next to me ended up about 6 rows down in the mayhem while Magnum Jnr ended up on top of me from 12 rows back. At that point Magnum Jnr was not the smallest of guys

Some night walking out of there on top of the world. Little did we know that by winning the treble again we'd end up being stuck with Lennon

I was at a show in Glasgow which was pysh. Had won about £80 on fixed odds at weekend and lumped the lot on this game between over 45/55/65 bookings points - won about £400 !! Refreshed the fack out of LiveScore at 1-1 - just about to go down to underground stairs and last refresh that worked 1-2 πŸ˜€ train stopped at ibrox where bears got on and filled the train - think they scudded Dundee 4-0 but not a peep from any of them so realised 1-2 was final score.

Show was pysh but what a night πŸ˜€

‘ Postecoglou said: “When people say, ‘He’s going to go down the road or somewhere else with the first offer he gets’, it’s not how I’m wired, it’s not how I think.

“For me, what it’s about is just trying to leave a mark wherever I am.

“I have done that with every football club I have been at. I want to do that at this club too and that is all that consumes me.

“I don’t think about the next step or I need to go somewhere else, or I need to do this or I need to consider other things.

“It’s all there and you don’t go through life oblivious to it.

“It’s not even healthy to put the blinkers up and not know what is going on, because that tests your desire to keep doing what you’re doing.

“Of course, if people are talking about my future, or are interested in my future, I will sit there and listen.

“It doesn’t mean I’m going to jump at anything that comes my way.

“I’m really passionate about what I do. The people close to me know what is most important to me, what drives me and what keeps me sort of happy in my role. And I couldn’t be happier.

“I’m hoping that over the course of time as long as I’m here — and I am still here even though people have been getting me out the door and I think you’ll be surprised how long I am here — I’m consumed by trying to make this club the best it can be. And I’ll enjoy every minute of it.

“In the world of management, I am too old to be kidded on by anybody. Things change very quickly.

“How many managers last three years in their roles these days?

“You have either got to have extraordinary success or in rare circumstances a club sticks by you. Apart from that, everyone doesn’t last that long.

“I am going into my third year next year and I am going to keep doing what I am doing and not really worry about what other people see.

“So I’ll tell you what the first thing is and one of you will be the first ones to do it, is say I am not ambitious enough because I am not moving on.”

I don’t know who the interview was with-can only see what was said. Just tops off a good weekend.

That final paragraph, Ange is a very savvy fella, gazumping the MSM with the nonsense they will start coming out with now that he looks to be around for a long time.

i don't think i've ever liked a manager more than Ange, you take the good with the bad.

we're very naive in the champions league and his lack of ability to change that is what i think makes him a good but not a great manager.

i'll take enjoying watching us for about 40 games a season over playing alright in six.

I love the champions league but this team provides such excitement right now that we would be foolish to change it just so we can shut shop in europe.

Didn't Lennon do this during that car crash of a season?

It's the way we have continued to play attacking football this season, I think its more pleasing to watch than Rodgers first season with us, get the Euro argument but think people judge that a bit too hard, agree with your point on the 6 games v 40 games, spot on πŸ‘

The only downside to it is you remember the success in the big games.

barca, man utd, milan, Juve, big moments.

Rodgers first season was terrific, it really was, just a whole new level of professioanlism at the club. second we won a treble but it was all a bit meh,the third i could honestly throw up watchin us pass the ball about the back 4 nonstop.

then lennon came in and all that progress of professionl standards disappeared because he likes pints and chips.

When we played under Rodgers in Europe and were getting pumped, I remember saying at the time that I could put up with it and understand it IF it was used as a learning curve for him and the players and that we could see progress. That didn't happen.

Lennon as well in his first stint - his results initially in Europe were dreadful, but he managed to get the team more pragmatic and got us into the CL and we had some decent results.

Postecoglu has his own style, and I think he'll be more like Rodgers than Lennon in that aspect. He's not going to make massive changes to how we play.

Again, I don't mind if it helps longer term changing our mindset. Can't count how many times over the years we've played teams (Bodo/Glimt as an example) where we've been outplayed by guys who are financially weaker than us, and where we shouldn't be losing.

It probably won't happen though.

i think we are now in a position to beat teams like glimt though, theres been a definite improvement.

Does Beale need to win the Scottish Cup to keep our Bearchums onside..? Or would they be happy with a trophyless season?

If he doesn't win the league he can't budget for next year until he gets through the champions league qualifiers and he effectively hands us next year's title as week.

Celtic have had three brilliant transfer windows in a row starting last January and it has put us streets ahead.

No fan is happy as such with a trophy less season, the question is more is it acceptable?

If he doesn't win the SC and is scudded in the remaining Celtic games who knows the tide may turn against him.

I think bears will want to see performance as much as winning games, Hearts apart Rangers have won and whilst that's fine the football has been abject.

Why he bought 2 supposed starters in Cantwell and Raskin and benched them for a final is bizzare tbh and starter is his words.

So many players he has inhereted need in my humble opinion to be replaced, McGregor, Barasic, Tavernier, Jack, Arfield, Morelos, Kent its very stale under those players who have been there too long.

The Rangers captain is also a weak spot, never a captain of a football side never mind a Rangers captain.

He has a lot of work to do, requires a lot of backing, needs help from the staff and board and needs it pronto as CL qualifiers start pretty quckly post season.
