Fraser Forster

Agreed.. Forster is fine for now. His kicking is certainly a massive improvement on Hugo. Only downside with him is that he's so bloody big, he does look a bit slow getting down to low shots.... Looks a bit like a falling tree

Spot on.

Without doing anything dramatic Forster has had a stabilising effect on the team and I would definitely keep him between the sticks for the remainder of the season.

That chance Bowen had just after we scored the opener against WH had a Lloris error written all over it (near post has never been his friend) and Forster dealt with it very comfortably.

I'm not saying Forster is a long term solution but he'll do for now.

Yea, he's better than lloris. He won't make worldie saves, but also seems very unlikely to make howlers.

The defence has been a lot more settled (bar that Leicester horror show) since lloris got injured.

Unless his form dips he should be number 1 for the rest of the season.

Given his height and size he should dominate the box from corners and crosses in. I'd keep him as no1 til the summer, then see what happens in the transfer market

I must admit, I was concerned when Hugo was out and big Frayz had to step in however, he has been pretty solid and I now you mention it I felt really calm yesterday on corners etc compared to when Hugo is in goal.

Wow. I'm amazed at these comments. He's barely been tested and has yet to prove anything but you're still preferring him over Lloris? Staggering.

100% Lloris would have saved at least one of those goals against Leicester and yesterday Forster flapped at a shot and parried it directly into the six yard box. he was very fortunate Ben Davies was there to tidy up.

I think you lot have forgotten the positive parts to Lloris' game. He's a brilliant shot-stopper that has admittedly made a few errors this season. Who hasn't gone through a spell like that? De Gea went through something similar, now he's back as the commanding figure he was. For a man that has given so much to our club - he's unquestionably the greatest goalkeeper certainly of my era (or the Prem era) - yet you Forster is the better keeper? Come on!!! He's going through a bit of a bad spell, sure, but to disrespect our captain like that is crazy, and wholly inaccurate.

The Havertz chance yesterday too. I’m certain Lloris would have come out and give away a penalty. Forster done brilliantly.

Jesus Christ you’re like Sandy mate. Purposely disagreeing to cause an argument. How are we disrespecting Lloris? He’s been absolutely atrocious this season and it isn’t just a “few errors”. He’s been the main cause of many lost games because of his stupidity. Oh and 100% Lloris isn’t saving that Havertz one on one opportunity. That’s a penalty to Chelsea 100000%.

I'm not doing it on purpose. I just think we were very, very lucky to get a player of Lloris' ability when he first signed and he's undoubtedly a club legend that happens to be going through a tricky spell. He may be on the slide as a consequence of age so I'm on board with him being replaced but to say after 2 largely untested games, that Forster is the preferred option, I find staggering. This is our captain.

I'm saying he is getting to that Havertz chance too. He's quicker off his line than most keepers, certainly more than a 6'7" lump like Forster. He got down well but 100% Lloris would have gathered that, purely because he's quicker and he'd have got there earlier.

Also, Lloris IS better with his feet. I can't believe some fans prefer Forster because he lumps it upfield harder. WTF? Is this the Peter Kay Fosters ad or something? Are we celebrating the 'ave it!!!' approach now?

Lloris on his day is a good shot stopper. Whack at pens, kicking under pressure and a rubbish captain.

Not at all. We are just saying how calm it is to actually have a keeper that can kick a ball to our players feet without a heart in mouth moment which is pretty much Lloris 99.9% of the time he has the ball at his feet. Prime example Man city last minute still 1-0 up and Lloris decides to kick the ball to a Mancity player. It obviously didn’t amount to anything, but once again he put us under pressure due to pi^^ poor kicking. He’s finished as a top level keeper. It’s not disrespectful, it’s just facts mate. Also, where has anyone here said Fraser Forster is the 2nd coming of Christ? We are just pointing out that Forster is calmer between the sticks.

And Lloris kicking is nowhere near better and neither is his distribution. I swear you watch a different Lloris to the rest of us Fridgeboy. His distribution is probably the worst of any keeper in the league.

"I just think we were very, very lucky to get a player of Lloris' ability when he first signed".... Not sure that's relevant, he's now 36, has been at the club 10 years. We've seen a gradual increase in his errors & drop off in performance, as you would expect from any athlete as they get older. Great keeper and a fantastic servant but in no way a legend..... He's won nothing. The right thing to do would be to go after a long term replacement this summer

posted on 27/2/23

Lloris is finished regardless. We need to get a commanding keeper in. No cheapies need to get the absolute best that we can get.

Forster kicks well off both feet

Psychologically a giant keeper must affect opposition and gove some confidence to defence for aerial attacks

I`m not sure if Forster is the long term answer but we certainly need a replacement for Lloris. Hugo has another year left and is still a top keeper on his day, but has some weaknesses that the next GK needs to be better at, kicking being the main area.

The new GK needs to be good with his feet, as well as a good shot stopper, agile and commanding.

I reckon the club will let Lloris leave on his own terms, he has earned that after so many years service. He has also been a fantastic GK for us, all keepers make errors and Hugo has been no different but the good moments have far far outweighed the bad.

I think we will bring in a new GK if one we like becomes available, otherwise Hugo will see out his deal and we can spend that money elsewhere.

We should learn to trust more, our what is backup crew: Skipp, Forster, Sarr, and even Danjuma.

We slate our squad depthness, surely they aren't as bad as we are led to believe?

OP big Fraser has done well. He was brave going to feet for that one in the Chelsea game. Him and Lloris are like chalk and cheese with their attributes. Both have pros and cons.

I applaud the career Lloris has spent with Spurs. On his day he was truly top top class. But like all great things they inevitably come to an end.

Forster is a great no2. Finding the next Lloris is the priority for me

They aren't.

We have a bench of
Porro
Son
Danjuma
Sarr
Perisic
Lucas

It's just our CBs that have no depth. But in terms of firepower Conte should be trying to maximise this by getting the ball forward to them as much as possible or winning the ball higher up.

Romero can't keep bailing us out every week.

Something calm about Forster. Or maybe it's the fright of Lloris. Wish we signed Pope

Forster's decent but (not the first time I've noticed) he did one save yesterday that went straight back into danger - if Chelsea had a functioning striker they could've well nicked a goal. That's one thing Lloris has always been good at - he'll make a good save but he always pushes it out or wide.

Anyway yeah fair play to the big man. He'll do for now

posted on 27/2/23

Lloris has been a great servant but think he is probably done at Tottenham as he won’t be a back up and why should he

Back to France to finish his career in the summer maybe ?

Happy with Forster til the end of the season ….I noticed yesterday how comfortable he was off either foot , used his left more than his right it seemed
