Yes he definitely looked more promising tonight….
We seriously miss Rodrigo just for someone who can get the ball on target.
Bamford needs to retire - I have had enough hoping he finds the form of one season. He’s just not good enough. I hear all the talk of shape and press…we need someone to control the ball and kick it in the net …he can’t do either.
2nd half he was a different player to the 1st half (apart from the late header, did very little).
Would like to see him start v Chelsea. Also agree that Bamford is woeful atm … will he recover his form?( goal-scoring that is).
i like rutter, he is a rough diamond, he will come good. it is so hard to adapt at a new club, new league at such a young age.
re bamford, again many playes who get injuries struggle to get back to their best, i fear he is done at this level, hope i'm wrong
That was Rutter's first start against Premiership opposition. Despite very little service, he was a shocking refereeing decision & a coat of paint away from having two goals to his name. Not a bad start & with experience he'll improve. The lad has definitely got something, plenty of nice touches also evident & he's not afraid to chase back & win possession.
Bamford? Needs to be on the bench now & when Rodrigo's fit can't see him featuring much at all. For all his apologists & apprentice Bielsas who talk about how much better we play when he's on the field, it's just not the case any more. Unfortunately he looks a spent force & his body language suggests he knows it himself. It's one thing looking impressive against Cardiff but that doesn't cut any ice in the Premiership.
gotta be honest...from the first two cameo games I thought we'd been conned, but he needs to start against Chelsea or upfront with a.n.other
Unlucky not to have scored a hatrick and a great through ball to Gnonto - yet again, failure to score cost us...Chelsea - hopefully things start to change
Can't fault is workrate and endeavour. Think he's struggling to acclimatise to the physicality of the game, he got outmuscled a few times. But he has something in his locker. Can see him banging them at some point, especially the championship.
