Are there many Christians and Jewish people in Abu Dhabi?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've no idea, but I didn't think it would be allowed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember reading about this and interested to see how this building works. Because as far as I’m aware and can remember, while other / non-Muslim religions are allowed in UAE, anything to do with that religion basically has to be done a) behind private doors and b) individually, no group meet ups in name of religion allowed.

You do realise that religion is THE No 1 reason for war persecution famine starvation & poverty in the world don't you
Not to mention Roman catholics and their fondness for under age wrong doings
I despise religion in all forms
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It may be the number 1 excuse for wars, the reality is the real reason for wars is usually related to commodities or geopolitics.
I am not religious, but I see the attraction to living a religious life. Like everything though, you have extremists which those groups need to be held accountable for and provide better funding and education so it's less common.
This building is a good idea, it'd be even better if they could practise their religions in the same buildings, just like people with different races, cultures and beliefs mix in every day life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's all politics. Religion is a tool used by politicians to advance their agenda.
Has always been politics and will always be politics

Surely religion is political though, the major ones were refined to cement tribalism and help during war although they themselves split and helped cement further feuds for centuries

Seems few sources say different things on what I was reading:
According to a 2017 U.S. State Department report on religious freedom in the UAE, “Individuals belonging to non-Islamic faiths said they could worship in private without government interference but faced restrictions on practicing their religion in public.”
and
‘Open Doors said that while foreign workers are free to worship in private, preaching along with praying and evangelising in public are banned.’ https://tinyurl.com/mu7ethj9
But indeed there seem to be a lot of churches built in UAE, there must be some sort of congregational meet ups happening, perhaps with local agreement with government?
