I don't disagree, I can't stand the man.
Pretty fair analysis.
The first half v Liverpool I thought both teams were pretty bang average. A lot of our players played that half as if they were drunk. Instead of sobering up with a nice cup tea at half time, it’s apparent they downed a few more vodkas.
Liverpool didn’t even need to massively improve, I don’t think they were anywhere near their level of the past few years, and even at that they could have reached double figures.
Shockingly bad, but we should be used to getting the odd tanking. Hopefully in a year or two they’ll be a thing of the past under Erik, on the whole I think he’s doing a fine job so far.
And this is exactly why I still think top four might be a struggle. Thankfully Spurs are not putting pressure on at the moment, but all it will take is a few more bad results.

We did it first half against Brentford and City away and 2nd half on Sunday.

I still don't think it will be a struggle VC, 6 wins from our last 13 gets us 67 points, 7 wins gets us to 70.
I'd still be surprised if we end up below 70 points and unless Liverpool really raise it, I can't any see of the teams below us breaking 70.
I still reckon we finish in the mid 70's.
Without wanting to make him a martyr that gets better with every game he is away... I really do think we are starting to see the effects of Eriksen's absence. We have really lacked that link between defence and attack. We've reverted back to a more counter attack style, which has generally paid dividends, but is starting to show it's limitations.
This position should be the first to be addressed in the summer (Eriksen himself cannot do 90 mins consistently ).
I hope we can bounce back after the defeat though and it is just a blip in an otherwise promising season.

And Villa away. Another poor performance.
Luckily, most normal minded fans are aware that we wouldn’t become a top team overnight.
The progress is there to be seen though. First trophy in the bag for several years, on the hunt for more. Some of the recruitment has been top notch overall. We can’t really complain at all. I just hope we see the right reaction tomorrow against a very decent Betis side.
Ten Hag has done a fine job in minimising the weaknesses in the squad and making compromises between how he wants us to play and what the players are capable of. But those vulnerabilities and gaps do exist, and I think we could have been punished more than we actually have over the course of the season.
Overall, we have got steadily better over the weeks and months since he took over. Now we're partly a victim of the consequent success as the players look physically and mentally tired. We'll have to see how the interplay between tiredness and incremental tactical improvement works out in the final part of the season.
I'd say VC is correct that top 4 isn't a given. Every team in the division has hit choppy waters, and there's enough quality in the league that even the best sides can stumble against relegation teams if they're not on it.
Thing is you can look at most teams results and say if the opposition did this and that they could have won, look at Arsenal could easily have lost a Villa who struck the bar late on at 2-2 yet they have a shot hits the cross bar and goes in off the goalies head last minute to win, against Bournemouth 2-0 down with 3-2 in the eighth minute of 6 added on.
We’ve deserved to win all the games we have and deserved what we got on Sunday absolutely no point in over examining it.
The biggest factor for me is Weghurst he has paralysed our ability to counter quickly we generally only start playing he goes off ETH seems blind to this guy and this worries me more going forward than Sunday.
Only two weeks ago most of the Pool fans on here were in dismay how old and slow their midfield was, how Salah was so wasteful with chances, Gakpo nothing special etc it’s just one game Sunday they got their act together well and we were total shiiite every single player, just take it and move on.

I think considering its the managers first season, our squad is light, we've recently had a WC and are playing more games than anyone else at the moment it's understandble to see our performances drop even though results in the main have been very impressive. Getting the balance right but also keeping us in contention of trophies and top 4 was always going to be a mamoth task.

Fair, I still think we'll comfortably win 6 or 7 more league games though.
The sooner we get the points on the board. I know that's obvious but if we do go far in the cups there could be a lot of games in a short space of time towards the end of the season. I'm not saying it'd be fatigue in particular that would affect us it'd be more the pressure of playing catch up in these games in hand.
Having said all that I'm confident we'll do enough at home to get the points we need. I also much prefer playing a lot of games than the turgid end to the season we had last year.
I admit that I thought we were a good team, not great, but good. Easy draw or not we won the league Cup, and are in the other Cup, plus the Europa. We have a good chance of top four.
I could see some weaknesses, but nothing like process is saying.
I haven't seen Sundays game after the first 30 minutes, driving home, but I won't watch it now.
We will have to see what the next two or three games bring, but I'm still optimistic.

True but 62% accuracy is very poor for a player in any position let alone at DM. I'm not saying he hasn't been very good but he's been slightly overpraised imo and his flaws often get overlooked by both fans and pundits.
Even on Sunday Carra said he "uncharacteristically" gave the ball away when anyone who's watched him at all know this isn't true.
“I hate agreeing with Souness as he comes across as horribly bitter but he was spot on when he said we've been getting away with it in the last few weeks.”
Hindsight is 20/20. Why are Utd “getting away with it” but Arsenal aren’t when scraping results? Or Liverpool who did it for 2 seasons.
No team wins big titles without winning when playing badly at times.
