Lloris - needs to go
Skipp - stay
Hojbjerg - borderline
Sanchez - needs to go
Son - needs to go
Richarlison - borderline
Kane - stay (but probably won't)
Royal - borderline
Perisic - needs to go
Dier - needs to go
Danjuma - will probably go
Romero - stay
Sessegnon - needs to go
Forster - stay
Kulusevski - stay
Porro - stay
Tanganga - needs to go
Moura - will go
Sarr - stay
Bentancur - stay
Davies - needs to go
Lenglet - will probably go
Bissouma - borderline

So, on a generous view (ie. assuming all the borderlines stay and are worth their place, and assuming Kane stays), by my count there are 12 players who merit their place in the squad, and 11 who should leave or probably will anyway.

And then you add the players out on loan.

It's gonna take years to put the squad right
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree on Son and Sessegnon. They can go if decent offers come in but neither are actively bad IMO.

The bigger issue for me is the loan army. They pretty much all have to go and we'll get pennies back if we can sell them at all.

I think Romero wants out as well. Believes he's too good to be there.

OP delete this clown. A cowardly stain who has nothing to say and thinks he's a comedian.

Again, he's probably right... I don't really see Romero having any particular loyalty to Spurs. Why would he? If a bigger club comes along he'll definitely want to join them. As with Kane, I suspect the only issue will be whether they can pay what Levy will demand

Maybe re. Son, but my gut says he's on the slide now and this summer will be the last chance to get a halfway decent fee for him.

As for Sessegnon, I just don't think he's very good.

The right man in chanrge is the most important thing.

There are plenty out there who will get this lot performing better than Conte and entertaining us.

Add the sort of quality we are lacking through the the GK, CB and AM positions and we are a very decent out fit.

Those who call for the likes of Son to be sold are fools IMO. We are suffering this season in attack because the supply and the attacking intent of the team is poor. Son & Kulu spend more time defending than they do in attacking areas. Give them the supply, employ a system that creates space for them to operate to the best of their abilities and these players will do so much more that they currently are.

A poor season for Son admittedly but also for Deki...you dont just get rid of them because of this when we have all seen the sort of negative tactics they are operating in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree about Kulu and Son... I think they would both be great playing in a 4231 for a manager that's wants to press high up the pitch and get them the ball in decent areas with the opposition stretched. Both are so much better with midfield support high up the pitch rather than relying on Long balls from the back or always playing on the break. Both are less of liability when they are being asked to defend high up rather than in their own half as they are under Conte.

Playing for someone like Poch or either the Porto or Sporting Managers (who have been touted) would be great

Someone that has some tactical flexibility (unlike Conte) could get so much more from this squad (even without signing a new attacking midfielder)

You Could Play Skipp and PEH as the 2, Kulu as the 10 behind Kane with Son & Richie either side Or Play Bentancur as a 10 behind Kane, with 2 wide.

The key is getting a commanding CB a new GK and getting rid of this fraud in Conte

posted on 16/3/23

A commanding CB with some pace who can pass. Not sure who that is but this will allow us to step 5-10 yards further up the pitch.

PEH & Bentancur in a CM role gives that level of protection that will allow the FBs to be more advanced.

I think Maddison would be very suited to us when we have the ball but pressing from the front kinda demands more effort than he puts in.

When you look at how Liverpool were successful, their attacking threat came from the front 3 and the FBs. The CM 3 has always been pretty functional and the front 3 also work pretty hard, led by Mane.

Arsenal are slightly different in that their FBs are less aggressive in attack, and probably contribute more in the midfield than the last third, while Odegard joins the attack a lot. Its interesting to see Zinchenko step into midfield a lot, in quite a free role sort of way, allowing Xhaka to go forward and join in too.

What is very obvious from these slightly different ways of playing 433 is that it took some time to develop. It didnt happen overnight for either manager. For both, pace is the key and Spurs lack it across almost every area of the team.

Wrong again StrikeMug! We are just very wary of grown men with a den. 😆

We need a top GK who is also good with his feet, at least 1 top CB and possibly 2, a creative midfield player and another top forward to replace Lucas and Danjuma.

As well as several surplus players to shift, there should be a busy summer ahead if Levy gets his arce into gear.

At the end of day, all it takes is a fantastic transfer window ( I know incredibly rare with Spurs ) , but 2/3 top signings could literally turn a team completely. Look at Napoli? Everyone thought they would be in transition this season losing Koulibaly etc etc, yet bought some unbelievable players and look at them now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the one for me. My god, that lad looks frightening. Everyone's talking about Oshimen but KK is the true jewel in the crown there. I made a point of watching a lot of their CL highlights to see how good they actually were and for me, this kid is the nearest thing I've seen to George Best on the ball. His ability to run at speed but keep the ball close is exactly the same. They're going to get ripped apart in the summer. The best clubs in the world are going to be going for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep, unbelievable player.

Spoke about him in the transfer thread a few times before Xmas. Would be a brilliant upgrade on Son but all the big teams will want him and Osimhen now.

Napoli did some great business buying him and Kim Min-Jae for peanuts.

We were interested in both, Son even bigger up Kim for ages but opted against signing them, utter mess.

My 25 squad for next season if Poch comes in:

GK: Raya - Forster - Whiteman
RB: Porro - Royal
LB: Udogie - Davies
CB: Romero - Kim Min-Jae - Dier - Lenglet - Tanganga
CM: Kessie - Bentacur - Skipp - Bissouma - Sarr
Attackers: Asensio - Kulu - Son - Perisic - Maddison - Brandt
ST: Kane - Richarlison

Can’t see us selling all the rubbish in 1 window.

Romero and Kane will be leaving.
No idea about the plans of Kulushevski and Bentancur.
But cannot assume they will stay either.
And the manager situation.........

As an outsider, I think you have a decent squad, a couple 9f top players but it's very difficult to keep players motivated when you have negative managers. Conte has done nothing but complain since he's been at Spurs. He wanted more players, he was given more players. Levi actually backed him. Yes, you lack a little quality, bit you have a competitive squad.
