Spence shines..

He`s not ready for the PL yet but he has all the attributes to be very good for Spurs, he is quick, physical and has good ability. The French League is a decent standard but ordinary compared to the PL, but hopefully he continues to get game time at the top end of Ligue Un, proves himself and comes back to Spurs to battle with Porro for the RWB / RB slot.

I dont believe this for one second. He might not be ready to play against top 6 teams regularly but there are 14 other teams that he could probably get game time for in the prem. Lets not buy into this notion that the Premier league is only 6 clubs and if you can't get into the 6 you are worthy of a game time

The kid was championship rb of the season this means he's better than at least 2 other championship teams right backs that got promoted yet they play week in week out.

I watched him in the championship, he was good, he's not quite ready to start in prem league but is still young, and playing regularly which is the main thing, will be a good addition to squad next season

genuine question, how do you know he isn't ready?

I really can't call it as I've seen him play maybe 5mins in total for us across 3-4 different games right at the end.

Haven't seen any of him before or after his time with us tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don`t, but the professionals in charge of players at the club will know a lot more than anybody on here, or any fan in the stands. That`s why he is out on loan, to gain experience.

Id agree with this but would also say that Conte has been stupidly stubborn with the picking of Spence, and the fact he said it was a club signing does not help the perception that Spence was not picked because he wasnt Conte's signing rather than on ability or any desire to develop the guy and give him experience.

with respect Billy mate, I think that's a very simplistic and tunnel-visioned way of looking at the situation.

The people in charge have also felt that Son has been has been undroppable for the large majority of the season, when in actual fact, he's consistently been one of the poorest performers since August last year

I think you need to pay huge attention to the internal politics at the the club which would likely paint a much more fair picture of what has gone on

A prime example is looking at the Danjuma situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet when he changes the team for a cup game, none of them play with any kind of desire, nobody takes their chance to impress and we limp out of the cup in pathetic fashion. It`s happened under several managers, not just Conte.

I don't disagree with any of that. I want Conte gone purely down to the poor football and his stubbornness.

But at the same time, if you let someone build up a run of games, rather than throwing them in cold once every 20 games, SURELY you can agree they're going to be much more likely to play better?

For example, had Danjuma been integrated into the side better than he has done, there's every chance, he could've come in and really taken over from poorer performing players like Kulusevski and Son.

If he came in and consistently stank the place out like the other 2 have done for a long time, then we as supporters would have a little more patience with Conte as we would see that maybe he's not up to it and that he's fighting fire with fire.

Conte's lack of trust in the players he doesn't play is mind boggling when you consider that it's the ones he does play consistently, that are consistently letting us down
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I agree Conte could have managed things better, he is stubborn, it is his way or no way, but we knew that when he was appointed.

I am totally meh whether he stays or goes at this point, he won`t get the players he needs if he stays and a new manager won`t either.

And you thought this a Nuno? Or maybe Ryan Mason. Maybe you've never challenged your boss's decisions because you believe you have nothing to offer.

Truth is those that watched championship etc know more about Spence than Conte who probably never bothered to watch a championship match whilst he was unemployed.

Conte doesn't seem to trust anyone's opinion but his. Which is fine if he was emersed in British Football but he spent most of his managerial career in Italy so he must accept he isn't the God of UK football and perhaps other people know more about players and skill sets than he does. This is why you have a backroom team not just for training but for scouting etc

Cos this league is that good? We have been crap all season and are in 4th spot. Yes what a tough league this is

posted on 20/3/23

Every chance he'll turn into a good player. If Pochettino comes back then he will enjoy working with Spence and Porro given his record improving attacking full backs.

If nothing else, it'll be good to have two options for RB that have a similar playstyle, instead of the major shift between Porro and Royal

Yup especially after finally getting game time. Him and Porro is a problem for opposition.

Emerson please convert to RCB/RB rather see him than Sanchez
