We were dead in the water so anything from now is a positive. The team did seem to play with less fear under Stellini so let's see what happens.
We were never gong to get a new manger to come in with 10 games to go (no matter what some of our know it all fans think) so this is what we've got. Time to back the team again.
We`ll win a few, lose a few and probably draw a few.
Ultimately it`s the same players and we have lots of injuries, there may be a slight uplift in performances but it won`t be enough to finish in the top 4.
It will be interesting to see what happens, but it`s all just a bit meh.
Yep, time to back the team. Stellini will do ok. Its the players that concern me more. It will be far too easy for most of them to just go on cruise control or their holidays early because they have no idea who will be their boss and which of them will still be there next season.

It could be refreshing? The shackles may come off a bit, but I tend to agree that it will likely be quite up and down as caretaker situations usually are.
At least we have a target to aim for. If we were sat where Chelsea are then the season would 100% unwind very quickly.

probably very similarly but with the occasional tweak like we saw against city
situation hasn't really changed - might get top 4 thanks to harry kane and other teams not being consistent enough to overtake us
We'll continue to be rubbish.
Would rather Mason than Stellini. At least he might have brought something different.
The whole situation is a shambles though. Unless Naggelsmann is guaranteed to come in the summer, should have just got poch in now.

Chelsea could still win the CL - what do we have, a faint possibility of top 4 - something that interests Levy more than the Enic customers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Top 4 is not a faint possibility. We are currently 4th so we clearly have a position to maintain.
My point was that if we were 10th with little chance of even top 6 then we'd be very meh! going into games
The fact that we still have Utd, Newcastle and Liverpool to play puts our top 4 fate very much in our own hands but as I'm not expecting to win any of those games for me it isn't gonna happen.
I know alot of supporters will be fine with this and see not qualifying for the CL as what Levy deserves but I don't agree with that, I would always take facing off against Europe's finest over not qualifying even if it doesn't go too well.
I'm glad Contes gone as he clearly didn't want to hang around and his I'm doing you a favour just by being here attitude was pathetic. Hopefully the style of football will be more watchable with Stellini and Mason at the helm but I'm not expecting a huge upturn in results.
Hope I'm wrong.
Top 4 will be difficult, was always going to be difficult, need to get these players back from international duty, hopefully all fit, any more injuries and we will be really struggling, the main positive to look forward too is the football should get better, hope he scraps that back 3, but been doing it for so long it's probably imprinted in his brain, hopefully Mason can have some input

"It comes down to the professionalism and respect of the players. Thankfully i think we have a good group in this respect, not too many trouble makers or shirkers who will see this as an excuse to switch off"
_________
I feel like one of the biggest issues at Spurs in the past 5 years is that the squad is filled with players who DO switch off at the first sign of trouble and won't bother showing up if they don't fancy the manager
Not sure its the right thing to do to change the system, that really will upset things and with Bentacur injured I am not sure we have a CM 3 that can deliver any greater attacking intent.
With the injuries and form, team almost picks itself.
In the absence of Davies & Sess I'd have Emerson as LWB, Porro RWB. In the absence of Richy its the expected 3 up front but not afraid to change it up for Moura or Danjuma if they are not delivering. Sanchez should be nowhere near the matchday squad.
The thing is we can have all of the players back fit and fighting but we all know it does not make one jot of diff who is in charge or who the players are. We as a club never make things, or do things on the pitch that make it easy on ouerselves.
We've not had it in our clubs make up for years now and this goes way beyond ENIC years.
We have a knack over time, history or genes to bring a new feck up or shoot ourselves in the foot most of the time and do everthing the hard way eveyrtime.
This is what needs to change.....

You are totally right.
Over the last 20 and 30 years we have had players and teams plenty good enough to win pots.
You dont end top 4th, 3rd or 2nd or reach the UCL final without having quality.
We have so often failed to get over the line when in a position to do so, and that's why I do not blame Levy for going for the likes of Jose and Conte. Men who know how to get teams over the line . Of course, these guys delivering takes more than just their ability, more than many other managers they need the best players to get results.
It has become such an issue now that it is affecting us, and in this respect Conte was right. It adds pressure to us, even playing Sheff Utd when the draw had seemed to open up for us, rather than embrace the opportunity we wilted with a pathetic display.
IMO part of this is the clubs absolute focus on top 4. It has impacted on team selection numerous times in these latter stages of a season and ultimately it has not been possible to fight on more than one front. But this is also a chicken and egg thing. To compete at the end of the season you need the quality, you need the squad depth, but to do that you also need the money. UCL puts another +£50m in the kitty. UCL will help us build a squad that makes trophies more likely. For me that is the reason why it is so important.
I would be happy with us being really competitive in the Europa. The early stages allow for a bit of player rotation and give fringe players a chance to develop, and the latter stages get far more interesting and exciting. But it pays out little (£50m less than UCL) so it just means our development is even slower or stalls.
Overall i think the ownership and the fans need a good hard think about what we are as a club, what our natural position is and how best we can operate and be successful within this, understanding what success actually is.

Conte made his position untenable!
Internationals are back at the club training today/tomorrow so they needed a management team in place.
They will have clearly preferred to have Poch or whoever in seat now but that has not been possible for whatever reason.
If Conte had not lost his shiiit then this situation would be very different. A man paid £1.25m a month has been an utter disgrace and should bare the responsibility for this situation.
