That semi was torturous, Allen will never win the World championship, Luca might get 2 or 3... Trump, Robbo AND Ronnie need be miles better next year...

The only thing I would say about Ronnie winning an 8th is you expect it, but you just don't know. Davis won his last final 18-3, no-one expected him not to win another.

After Hendry beat Williams 18-11, he made one more final and that was it.

It can just suddenly come to an abrupt stop. Ronnie is getting oldder, he can't go on forever, of course he is still capable, but not a foregone conclusion

Ronnie is still number 1. There's not much between him and Allen

Literally not much difference between the top 3 then. Could be an interesting battle for the number 1 spot.

Just read the WST website is getting a revamp and an App with better match data etc. Should be good for following matches not televised.

you can see why there are some grumbles about prize money in snooker, i know that the top players will have other sources of income, but maguire is ranked no.32 in the world, and has made £140k over the past 2 seasons, and that's before he pays his coach/manager/agent and all his expenses.

by the time you get down to 50th in the world, you're struggling a little to make much of a living.

I hope they will include stuff like pot percentage, safety success etc. I always want to know that sort of stuff.

The world championship starts a week later next year, as the first bank holiday in May isn't until 7th, so it's starts on Saturday 20th April 2024...

Crappy championship league is the first event of the season at the end of June.

Also, amazing to see a new winner on on the trophy and born in the 90s too. Brecel did make some mistakes, but also played amazing shots and was mentally very good too. Well done to Luca

As for Selby, I thought he battled really well throughout the tournament, but I just felt he was making too many mistakes. I thought Allen would punish him, but he had such a bad approach. Nothing wrong with being tactical and patient, but he went ultra negative and lost all his confidence.
