Really? You need to ask this week?
Just to cheer him up, it has to be Rodri.
Atheist really was the the definition of a good guy. Was always a pleasure reading his comments on here.
Silver. My hat is tipped to you this week to for going above and beyond to let us know of his passing. Sincerely appreciated.
Atheist-as admin said, he was the definition of a good guy.
Silver comes a close second for going to the lengths he did to find out, and the care he took in his thread to let us all know. That, and then managing to resist ath’s nearly nude neighbour as she talked to him…
Never met Ath, but I would wager he is having a wee chuckle pint in hand looking on as his passing got GGOTW more than 2 replies ππRIP
Ath. With a special mention to the Silver Sleuth.
Ath and Poitou.
Although you have to wonder how many times somebody went on holiday for 4 weeks and Silvers had their family tree out, rifled through their bins and tried it on with their neighbours. He doesn’t post those ones

TBF most guys that have come to a night out have had to cross the rubicon of going into a pub and asking strange guys if they're off the internet! I was fortunate on my maiden voyage that I guessed right first time.
I'll be honest, I had reservations going to see Ath, particularly if it was completely the wrong house. Lauders volunteered to join me but I swallowed a brave pill and it was fine - I was >90%% sure TBF. I was more worried about getting no answer and looking through the letter box to see a pair of half legs sticking out and a swarm of flies.
BTW fck knows how these genealogists get a kick. Only so much online and they make it difficult and lengthy to order certificates and stuff. When talking to the council about the electoral register the guy more or less said 'unless you know what you are looking for don't come cos you are limited to an hour, you're not allowed photographs and we have to stand by you to make sure and we can't afford an hour'.
One thing that did mildly amuse me was Ath's house backed onto a chapel & RC primary
