I would say, that if Liverpool can't beat a very ordinary Chelsea in their next game, serious questions should be asked .Both of these teams are absolutely very average this season, consequently, both managers will be under utmost scrutiny.

Absolutely. Beef up the middle next. With two out on frees, Fabinho seemingly replaced with a useless doppelganger this season, that is the only place that should be focused on.
Unless Jones is going to finally get going, three 24-26yr olds are needed. Bellingham just isn't happening I don't think.
An outside aged player for me would be JWP. When we signed Lalana, I wish we'd signed him instead. He had the same 'thing' about him Henderson did. I think he would be great under Klopp.
Maybe another Matip replacement (as in a freebie).
Anyone who questions if he should be given the opportunity is mad.

Unless there’s going to be over £200m to spend, Bellingham wouldn’t even make sense right now, would he?
You aren’t going to bring in Bellingham plus another three or four who’ll directly upgrade or even compete with the first XI for anywhere near that.
Surely it has to be the right four or five £30m to £50m players you aim for, rather than spunking more than half of the transfer budget on one player again.

Agree with this we simply can’t afford Bellingham with the rest of the squad being allowed to age like it has.
That ship has sailed thanks to Klopp and the owners.

But how embarrassing is that. We sacrificed a season so we could buy and in that time we need a new midfield, CB and right back.
Fans should still demand Bellingham plus other signings but we just sit back and take all the owners excuses.

To the Norwich club shop!!
Thiago was already highly injury prone at Bayern. Wasn't his signing back in the day seen as a risk worth takin in view of the price?
Anyhow, seems the general consensus so far seems to be that Klopp gets the rebuild. Does the playing style need to evolve though, or is it simply a question of injecting it with fresh energy?
The rebuild is already in process. The front line has seen two starters replaced and we've added extra depth. We've added depth at centre back and left back. Midfield needs a couple of additions, especially with Keita and Ox going at the end of the season.
For me whether Klopp remains to complete it, isn't even a question that needs answered. He just signed a new contract for this reason, to complete a rebuild.
Klopp playing one way is nonsense. We've went from being high energy pressing to being a more possession focused team, which began a couple of seasons ago. This season saw an attempt to change the system again, with an out and out striker brought in, Salah beginning wider, TAA high up but more central than before and a very high line. For me this hasn't worked and has left the defence extremely vulnerable and the midfield have been easy to bypass. Some people blame this on individuals but for me they've an extremely tough job on ther hands when asked to play this way. It basically means you have to take fewer risks as the opposition are in on goal with one ball over the top or around the sides, which has happened on numerous occasions this season. We would need to play like City to achieve this. However we don't have those types of players.
Honestly I think a simple pre season, a mind reset, getting the system right solves most of the issues. People are too quick to jump to blame individuals and thinking signing players solves all the problems. Although we do need a few obviously.

He’s already started the rebuild hasn’t he?
Diaz
Gakpo
Nunez
Bajcetic
Carvalho
Konate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We need a summer of 5 new players and not just 1 at a time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Henderson
Thiago
VVD
TAA
All need upgrades
Plus get rid of deadwood like Keita, Gomez, Jones, Ox
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thiago been a flop but most Liverpool fans don't want to have that conversation
Trent is just pathetic at the moment. Needs to move into midfield but Klopp is too stubborn
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A flop only on his injury record. When he is fit, he is majestic. Sadly that isn't very often.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Injury record yes is pathetic but even his performances on the pitch have been overrated by us. Defensively he is not very good but you could blame Klopp for that cos he exposes him too much.

Our 2nd half capitulation was not down to the manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unless there’s going to be over £200m to spend, Bellingham wouldn’t even make sense right now, would he?

Thiago was already highly injury prone at Bayern. Wasn't his signing back in the day seen as a risk worth takin in view of the price?
Anyhow, seems the general consensus so far seems to be that Klopp gets the rebuild. Does the playing style need to evolve though, or is it simply a question of injecting it with fresh energy?
posted on 2/4/23
The rebuild is already in process.

It's not though. We don't have the same transfer committee. We don't have the people to reject Klopp who wants Julien Brant rather than Salah. We need a DOF first.

Thanks, TOOR. This is the article I was alluding to:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/apr/01/jack-grealish-manchester-citys-coolest-kid-teaches-liverpool-a-lesson
In fairness, he doesn't really say that about Klopp in general, but more about your current iteration:
"And really, you do wonder how much longer before this GCSE version of how to beat Liverpool is finally addressed."

I don't have my finger of the pulse of all things Liverpool, do I? Plenty of clubs switch managers after half a season of poor form nowadays, even when said manager has been successful beyond what would have been reasonably expectable.
