Weird one though. No Celtic player appealed

It's to pre-empt the three dodgy Rangers pens at Celtic Park next week.

Haven't seen it, but going by the photo on the sky scores app....defenders arm looks outstretched quite a bit, so if it's hit it there, current rules would say it's a pen

Hate to say it but he has a point.

The issue is it’s not VAR that’s inconsistent; it’s the refereeing. Always has been and always will be.

All VAR can do is ask a referee to look again as they may think he’s missed something

Yeah, it's hit the defender's arm at exactly the same point where it's hit Goldson's arm three times.

Agreed, but in the past probably 5% of those kinds would be awarded. Now it seems about 70/30 so there are more correct decisions which can only be good. Nobody said var was a panacea.

Goldsons arm was in front of his body, not outstretched to the side away from it

Mainly because they weren’t seen by the ref before VAR gave them different views and facilitated a review.

Any argument that 30% inconsistent decisions are worse than 95% inconsistent decisions is doomed to fail.
