I’m asking my sister if we knew him, I grew up in Invergordon and recollect a Peter Legge. I had asked Highland where he lived before, but he maintained his privacy and I think he may not have been from Invergordon originally. Sad loss for us on here!

Oh my good God. Ive just seen this.

It was only a few days ago i posted a thread suggesting that if anything happened to him (not this!) that called him away, then someone else should be nominated as a stand-in match-day thread author. And now this news? My head’s in a spin.

Highland, you were one of the few posters on here that I truly admire(d) from afar. You will be very sorely missed.

Jeez...very shocking and sad news. The match day threads have given us all such a lot. Thank you, Highland White - RIP.

Terrible news. Always came across as a vibrant and happy chap who enriched this site

Awful news. I never met him personally, but always came across as an absolute gentleman. Dealt with the trials and tribulations of being a Leeds fan with a grace and humour most of us struggle to. He will be hugely missed by all, my heart goes out to family and friends.

Met him once, lovely guy. Asked for a lift to ground from Drighlington when he came down for a match about 4 years ago. I pass there so not a bother. Good chat about all things LUFC and 606. Really great man and a cornerstone of these pages.

Truly, truly sad news. RIP

Ah that's such terrible news. My thoughts are with his family. Big loss to ja606 community too. He was a top man.

This was from a thread I posted in April '21 and Highlands comment has always stuck in my mind.

Proves the measure of a real gentleman

Highland_White was one of the few I remember from the old BBC606 Leeds forum.

For many of us on here, every time the next game was upon us. Highland WAS Leeds606

Perhaps we can remember him that way….

Don’t post that often, but have been following 606 and JA606 for years and years.

I always followed the match day thread when the match wasn’t live to get a proper sense of how the team was playing, rather than follow the various media led commentaries which always seemed lightweight by comparison.

I hadn’t realised that Peter Legge was Highland until I saw todays matchday thread and put 2 and 2 together.

Like everyone else, I can’t help but feel it’s an “end of an era” moment, so the best I can offer is to say Thank You Highland for all the years you made the effort to add real value to the Leeds fans matchday experience.

We’ll Done… RIP and MOT

This has ruined my day.

What a loss to the board, not just for his match day threads, but he was such an awesome member of this community.

Probably the only member of this board who wouldn't have at least one person say a bad thing about him.

Genuinely gutted

Haven't logged in for a while, but wanted to offer my condolences. Peter's (or Highlandwhite as I knew him) matchday threads have kept me entertained for as long as I've been a JA606 member.
RIP, MOT.

Stunned by this news.Always enjoyed his match day threads.
Never had the privilege of meeting him, but got to know him a little bit through Facebook.
Came across as a thoroughly decent person;honest, straightforward and down to Earth.
Forever grateful to him for helping me keep in touch with events at Elland Road.
My condolences to all his friends and family.
R.I.P. Peter.

Stunned by this sad news particularly after Light Brigades post only 3 or 4 days ago.

I know I'm not the most popular poster on here and get a fair bit of abuse.... but never from Highland....RIP.... MOT

Just heard the news and very sad and upset

I met Peter/Highland a couple of times, on his visits to Elland Road a few years ago…had a few pints with him and I was always struck by sense of humour, what a gentleman he was…those attributes were always evident on his Matchday threads…how we will miss those threads…I didn’t post much in latter years but always read them.

R I P. Highland….you will always be remembered!

I have only just seen the matchday thread and learnt that it is Highland White who has passed away. When I put my earlier comment on this posting (2nd one in) the main post did not say who Peter Legge was so I just commented in a general way. I feel so shocked now. He was such a big part of this forum. We all feel as if we know one another on here, even though many of us have never met. I’m very, very sad.

Cheers Lancashire, I’ve posted a link to this article on Carole’s FB so his friends and family can see how much he meant to us on here.

Awful news, feel like I’ve lost a friend. Highland has been. A stalwart for. Us for as long as I have been posting, a source of positive, good fun, and a thorough gentleman, always. Let’s do it for Highland tonight. 2-1 Leeds.
