Thought other than the goal Meslier had nothing to do.
Ayling clearly targetted early on and as I said at the weekend it appears to be a season too much for him. Week in week out Bill being singled out. Early on some his passing was abysmal. That said he combined well with Jack and looked good going forward.
Thought Koch, Struijk and Firpo were superb, some of Koch's passing out of defence was top drawer.
Thought Roca, Weston and Aaronson all had their best games for some time.
Sinisterra looked excellent even if he did drift in and out of the game.
Paddy was awful in front of goal and most will latch on to that but he also did what he does best, held the ball nicely and relieved a lot of pressure.
Harrison best player on the pitch by a country mile.
Bamford and Summerville should both have scored.
Listened to it while driving home this evening.
Struijik and Sin were two big calls tonight, could have easily gone with Cooper and either Summerville or Gnonto but picked those two and it massively paid off for us.
Big call on Bamfprd too who was superb, I can already predict that there will be some on here slating him for not scoring but he was fantastic for us tonight.
Gracia has got the points against the other bottom teams we so desperately needed going into these games and let's be honest when he came in you would have given anything for three wins and a draw out of the games we had in front of us.
On Highland... It's just sucks he won't be on here anymore, was thinking about how to properly respond to it and all I could keep coming up with was the guy was just "the trunk of the tree"
What I mean by that was his consistent match day thread was the part of this board that all other threads we have on here branched from in some way shape or form (case in point this thread being a direct response to the match day thread every week). If you were too busy to post during the week you knew the thread was always going to be there and you at least posted in that. His matchday thread made you come back here and this contributed to all other threads as well.
If you toggled up all comments made on posts on the Leeds board and ranked them by which user had the most comments on their posts then Highland will be ahead of everyone else by a country mile.
The guy was the most consistent thing on here and his threads helped build this community more than any other person.
And that doesn't even take into consideration just how great a guy he came across as.
The guy will be missed.
Maybe just maybe Gracia actually knows what hes doing!
I think that was Roca’s best game for the club by a mile.
Plaudits to Forest as well they came to play a proper game of football no time wasting ,feigning injury a good honest opponent like I said earlier I hope they stay up as well.
Been very impressed with Gracias tactical awareness and his confidence to change formation when required.
Thought the 2 wingers caused Forest no end of trouble and stopped their full backs from attacking.
We're in a good position, everyone is pulling in the same direction and playing with no fear.
Thanks for your kind comments Jonty but it was the least I could do tonight and the support from all the 606ers will have Highland beaming with pride.
Knew he would deliver for us from up above.
Some superb performances tonight…Sinisterra, Roca, Harrison, Firpo standouts for me. The commitment and determination and effort was faultless.
Brilliant win.
Mattyp…respect for your great comments on Highland 👍…
And 2-1 ….just what Highland predicted.
I still think Leicester with Maddison Barnes and Tiellemans will go on a good little run and beat the drop and that is why tonight's victory really for me condemns the loser and so I feel that Forest will join Bournemouth and Southampton as the 3 sides relegated
However it's such a crazy topsy turvy situation changing every week, realistically all 9 clubs at the bottom are still lfighting for ther lives so you can't be 100% sure yet because everyone now writing off Southampton could end up being surprised by their potential great escape.
Massive relief though and at least for tonight there seems to be genuine optimism and belief we are dragging ourselves free from the mire.
Another cup final on Sunday with the stadium rocking and players regaining fitness and form and a coach that clearly possesses calmness and intelligence that translates well across to the team.
The omens are looking good.

Interesting point about time wasting. Did you not see Meslier heading the ball into the crowd about five minutes before time.
I thought it was funny but isn't it the case that time wasting is only time wasting when the other team does it.
Played really well, against a garbage side and manager
Ive been really really confident of staying up.
Just because I think we have a really good squad, who should be top half. Bench looks better than most in league.
Too many players have been written off.
Harrison was garbage according to alot, a month ago.
Guess what, plays in correct position, and been brilliant for weeks.
Struyk, played in right position and looks a good defender again.
Just a shame, we had a muppet in charge, playing the wrong tactics for over half a season.
Not a big fan of Roca, but was excellent tonight. Thought Mckennie, first half was brilliant.
1/14 on the stay up, while I think that is bloody short. Think we’ll easily stay up.
And wait for next season, with a couple of good signings, this squad has youth and quality
What a relief! Hate been in the bottom three and after Spurs pitiful attempt last night 20-odd hours of being in there is not good.
Brilliant performances from Harrison, Roca, Firpo and Sini.
Just a shame we could not create a golden chance to put the game to bed with all the opportunities but players just took one touch too many, delayed crosses when first time required and rushed crosses when a touch was needed! It would have been a better game to watch from a 2-goal lead and not the draining one endured. Felt quite ill at the final whistle.
Happy with that win. Though mixed emotions. It is like someone said on here in another thread; it is the end of an era.
It will be strange and unreal to not see new posts from Highland again.
Earl did a great job though. Hope Leeds can build on this, and get some more needed points on the board sunday
Matty your point about Highland was spot on.
Everything did branch from him. We’re all going
To miss him massively.
On Gracia, I’m really impressed by his tactical
And line up flexibility. If we don’t keep him,
Someone else will get a top drawer football mind.
Starting to like the idea he stays.
I thought we would miss Wober more than Addams and Gnonto but I forgot Koch and sturjk were our best duo before he was constantly played out of position.
He was massive tonight as was Roca.
He really has an eye for a pass.
Great win on a sad day.

I've agreed with you for quite a while on our squad strength. But, injuries have killed us. That and Marsch
being an utter tool of a manager. Sin is fit now and
looks as fantastic as he did early season. Bamford (as
much as I'm not a fan), is fit now and is important.
Jack was exceptional I thought. Koch, great game.
Roca one of his best games. List goes on.
By nature, I'm way more negative than you. You've
been consistent in saying we'd stay up. Get Wober
back and keep everyone else fit, you will be proven
100% correct.
I genuinely wonder if we played so well BEACUSE of lack of Adams.
Everyone saying injuries would kill us but Adams slows things sown with short sideways passes, Mackenzie and Roca were much more progressive with their intent, Roca especially and the tackling from both was really good.
I dont feel we missed Adams whatsoever.
I've never been in the we're going down camp as I've always had faith in the squad i said to a few before the game I thought we'd win by 4 and on another night we do, Roca and Mckennie had good games though I worry a bit if we come up against a midfield with legs, Mckennie is a bit of a 5 on 2 off shift player for me (that's mins) but knows the game,
Harrison was excellent and Sini looked like the player we thought we had early season,
Imo the Main summer signing needs to be a centre forward, Bamford whilst trying in his best doesnt look up to it anymore no pace or strength and along with Ayling is coming to the end of the road at ER thats just natural squad evolution,
I like the manager and if we continue the good form to the end of the season theres a case for giving him the job seems to have tactical nous and I know the players like him,
We should pick up 10 points at worse but looking at our remaining fixtures it could be 18, roll on Sunday,
Now we have Sini and Harrison as wingers id love to see Gnonto given a run as a number 10. Im not fussed with Aronsson although he did better yesterday. Just seems to fade very quickly in games. After a decent first half he was anonymous in the second half.
Think RK deserves another chance at RB as well with the way Aylings been playing.
Yep, great win and a night of positives (leaving aside the sad news). Only downside for me was Aaronson. Would prefer he is on the bench for the rest of the season. Onto Sunday and another 3 points!
Interesting that for Struijk to be able to play well and in his correct position, Junior has to play well. Last night he was up there. Most improved player or we finally have a coach who can untap that?
Most improved player or we finally have a coach who can untap that?
——————————
Narrow wingers, killed him. Simple as that, added with been injury free
Firpo .... confidence and the benefit of a run of games with Wober alongside also factors I feel, in addition to injury free.
Great performance from many last night.
Before everyone gets carried away, we're only 2 points above the drop,we only just beat the team with the worst away record and once again couldn't find the final ball in every attack we made, while looking uncomfortable at the back and Ayling doing his best to give the ball away. A welcome 3 points though.
Thought we deserved the win, comfortably the better side and Forest look out of there depth at this level. Likeable club, but would be amazed if they stayed up. Home form is there only chance
We don't look like a settled side. Not sure what our best starting 11 is, where does Gnonto fit in with Jack and Sini? We always have to swap and change players, with too many injury prone players in the squad and some championship rate players also. We looked shaky at the back as per usual and sloppy in the final third at times. Players not on the same wave length as we don't look settled.
Think we're clearly a CF away from being competitive each week. Brentford have Toney, Villa have Watkins, Fulham have Mitro, Bamford has 3 goals .....
Huge win and another good chance on Sunday. If we keep Eze and Zaha quiet, then we should get the points,.providing we take our chances.
Have to take the nerves into consideration here.
The pressure must have been immense for both teams going into this game.
As it will be in coming games.
There will be stupid mistakes, and poor finishing. The only thing that matters is getting the three points.
