Playing some good football when we can get the ball; which is usually about 20-30% of game time. But that doesn't include putting the ball in the net.

Defend with a very low block which rarely results in a clean sheet.

Agree with your team selection thsi week 'chile.
And whats more with them missing Rashford and possibly Casemiro this week is obviously going to be the turning point.

McKenna back just in time to replace Niakhate and we should be a bit more comfortable not having to cope with Rashford's pace.

Like most wingers Sancho and Antony can be erratic; let's hope they have an off day.

2-1 to the original Reds; Surridge off the bench to score a late winner.

Fist pumps all round.

We have been decent at home so fingers crossed the level of performance will be there and edge a tight game

Pretty sure Casemiro is back.

Providing he doesn’t get sent off again, should tip the scales towards us I reckon

You’re right, ban has been completed.

But it’s the Premier league and you just never know.

We’ve looked tried in games recently, regularly, so there is that.

We also have a good ability to adapt in games.

Interesting, Utd have just blown a 2 goal lead against Sevilla with two own goals, they also had their first choice centre half pairing of Varane and Martinez injured, so maybe we may have a slight hope of a point come Sunday. The worrying thing is over the 3 games we’ve played against them this season the aggregate is 8-0, let’s hope we can improve that. It would be nice to even score.

Well…it finished 2-2. Both own goals. The second off Maguire when they were down to ten men. Sabitzer scores two for United, after 21 minutes.

Must admit that I stopped following the EPL around the turn of the century, so for those who don’t know Martinez (CB) was carried off towards the end, with Varane (CB) coming off at HT (likely precautionary).

Other players that were rested when they were 2-0 up were…Antony, Fernandes, Martial and Sancho. Elanga, Eriksen, Pellistri and Weghorst their replacements.

Casemiro played the whole game.

So, what does that mean for us?

1. Fernandes will likely play 90 minutes against us, after receiving a one match Europa League ban for the second leg.
2. Unlikely that Varane will be risked, so Lindelof and Maguire in defence.
3. They’ll be frustrated…but hopefully tired. Only three nights sleep to the trip to the City Ground.

Based on the above, this is probably the best time to play Man United. I still give us little chance, but with one eye on next weeks game they’ll hopefully either rest players or take them off early.

Let’s hope it’s not another 8-1!

Our loss at Villa looking more impressive. Totally dominated Newcastle apparently.

I’m with Morninchile, i don’t really know where we stand, last week we made Villa look mediocre, a few weeks ago we ran Newcastle close, maybe we aren’t quite as bad as i thought. Our problem is we just don’t score enough goals.
Tomorrow will be all about taking chances, Utd will have their second string defence, so maybe we will get some chances, if we do we really must take them.
I personally don’t think Awoniyi is good enough, but our back ups aren’t that good either.
Defensively we generally aren’t that bad, but have a habit of giving at least one guilt edged chance per game, be it a Shelvey gaff, or a Niakhate basketball style handball.
It’s nice to see a team with as many injury concerns as us, and that is what gives me hope that we may nick a point, or even three.
Todays results really give Utd a free hit, with Spurs imploding, yet again, and the Mags falling apart at Villa park. Speaking of the Spurs, can you imagine how frustrating it must be to be one of their supporters, they consistently put themselves into great positions, and then invariably shoot themselves in the foot, its happened for basically decades.
I’d be more confident of our chances tomorrow if we had the likes of Lodi, Aurier and Niakhate to pick from, and ideally Yates, but Cooper says none will feature, guess we’ll have to see.
The crowd will definitely be up for this one, let’s face it everyone wants to beat Utd, plus it would takes us out of the bottom three, as would a draw.
Utd may give priority to their second leg in Sevilla, which will be a lot less straight forward, having squandered a two goal lead, particularly in the fashion they did it, two late(ish) own goals.
Maybe they’ll be just as generous tomorrow, but i doubt it.
Not really sure who will prevail tomorrow, but one things for sure, if we try and sit back, we’ll definitely finish a distant second, however, if we attack and really go for it, that imo is our best hope of getting something from this game. Fingers crossed I’m going for a Garibaldi 2-1 win, but it will certainly be a very nervy game.

All there is left is hope. The head is very clear that we lose. The heart feels there is a vague hope.

We cannot defend and more than likely, we will concede in the first 20 mins and it will be effectively game over. I know that sounds negative, but I think it’s realistic. We need yates in the team to be anywhere near solid. Without him, we seemed to almost have no midfield at all. They do very little in a game. Chances up front will be minimal too.

However, you just never know. We can still pull it off and some kind of win today would be a huge boost and could be a platform for more points. Cooler has been quiet about Kouyate and Niakhate so maybe there is a sulphide coming in the selection? Probably not but you never know. 🤞

Spoonerism's are becoming spell checker rash!

That made me laugh!

Lets hope for a decent performance and the crowd get behind the lads.

We don't want to go down without putting up a fight.

Took less than minute to concede a glorious chance! Hopefully not a sign of things to come 🤞
