Bird back on it tonight. Not too sure about the back 3 but great to be seeing us create again

I know its obvious but that is 4 matches unbeaten

So we wanna keep this manager now ? 😉

How did we set up tonight and how did we play? Was it a 3-5-1-1 with Sibley behind Didzy, NML right and Roberts left wing backs?

Didnt see it Vidal, but it sounded more like a 3 4 1 2. Knight & Roberts as WBs, Didzy & NML up front, with Sibs behind them. 🤔

Was busy trying to get the dinner ready for the kids.

It looked like a Back 3 and MF two. Ahead was difficult to tell. A 3-4-1-2 / 3-4-3 kinda thing.

I do wonder if Bird can be pushed forward ahead of Smith, and get our back 4 in business or vice versa. Bird does seem to have some physical presence when he ventures forward though, shooting a tad erratic.

Thought we looked good in the highlights. There hasn’t been a lot of end product from NML out wide recently because of poor crosses but playing him centrally seemed to work and with Sibley behind we look to have more goals in the team.

Vidal ... it wasn't really obvious what the formation was up top from where I was. Didzy was CF. NML was mainly RAM and Sibs mainly LAM but they were quite fluid and both came central a lot, NML especially.
Roberts and Knight deffo wing backs in front of a back 3.
If it means anything, I'd say it was a 3 4 2 1 formation ... ish!

Correction .. NML was LAM and Sibs was on the right! Its early and it was a late night !

It's a disaster! When I watched the game I saw us score 2 goals but when I check this morning the match thread shows only one so we must have had one chalked off by the EFL after the game I assume! We will never make the play offs now

Mr Zan [Zanfish] told me he went down to Asda. He said: ‘I want to make a complaint – this vinegar’s got lumps in it.’ the assistant said: ‘Those are pickled onions.'”... Hmmmm... Mr Z....eh...

NML played no. 10, Vidal.

Only downside for me was Sibley didn’t make too much impression once again, but he did get at least one decent tackle in.

Would you rather play Dobbz than Sibs then ?

Sibbo and Dobbz make a ‘good’ pair!

So who knew of Exeter manager (Gary Caldwell) links to Derby County? Apparently he played 9 times for us in 2003 on loan from Newcastle Utd.

Apparently our assistant manager (Richard Barker) made some remarks about Caldwell after the game. I didn't hear it properly but there seems to have been some beef and that Caldwell showed a lack of respect to Derby. Issues on touchline apparently.

Anyone got more on that?

Re Sibley he was very quiet in the first half but then he was rarely given the ball. He was more involved in the second half.

The spat with the Exeter bench was not clear from the streaming of the game except that I did notice some serious arm gesticulation when Derby "took their time" making a twin substitution but that was negated when Exeter made their almost concurrent substitution and took quite a while to complete it! I assume there were some verbals at the same time.
