Jose Mourinho, since he left Spurs

Should never have hired him in the first place as he wasn't right for Spurs. Clearly a better fit in Serie A these days.

Having said that, only Daniel Levy could double down on bad decisions by sacking the guy days before a cup final, which is kinda his speciality... No guarantee Spurs would've beaten City but chances certainly would've been improved with Mourinho instead of Mason

Even if Roma ate better than Spurs now, the point is that they weren't until Mourinho was brought in.

Yes

Nuno is tearing it up in Saudi. You should have let him rebuild the team instead of hounding him out.

It is hard to compare. Roma probably don't have better players than Spurs so don't know if you can call them a better team. The players are just better managed than Spurs' players so look like a better team. They are only successful due to good team spirit.

So nothing to do with Mourinho really. It is all down to the players and how well managed these players are.

Mourinho has always looked to control games. At times, strangle the life out of games. He's always loved a completely controlled 1-0 win.

In thinking he's always been quite aligned with Serie A and his Inter team were the epitome of that - conceded less than a goal a game. And that's slack compared to the defensive record of his best Chelsea teams.

The more fast paced and end to end a league is, the more difficult it is to control a game. EPL is still an athletic and chaotic league, he would need absolutely outstanding defenders and midfielders (as he had with Chelsea) to control games in the EPL.

Is he washed up? Probably not. But he should stay away from the EPL from now on because if he came back, he'd fail again imo.

Sacking him before the cup final and appointing Mason’s mates was the issue. Another abysmal money saving decision by Daniel Levy.

Another example of how people succeed everywhere else but spurs.

I wonder why….

Funny Sandy, I didn’t think you were interested in trophies, because spurs were sh 1t 100 years ago or something.

I've read on some forums that Jose's contract meant sacking him would cost more if he had delivered silverware and that's why he was sacked before he could win the cup.

Not really - Feyenoord aren’t in the same league (literally) as Roma. He also beat him in last years Conference league final.

You have to look at what Slot has done at Feyenoord who are traditionally Hollands 3rd team - probable league title, Euro conference final and Europa Quarters in 2 seasons is not to be sniffed at. He also had AZ in the title race before the season was suspended in March

Pretty obvious players rather than managers that are the problem at Spurs.

At least five new players needed.

On Jose - the guy is still a great cup manager. The league position isn’t particularly impressive - they are actually 4th behind Napoli, Lazio and Juve - Spurs are 5th in a more competitive league.

It’s that cup record that makes it so infuriating that we sacked him 6 days before a cup final just to save a few quid in compensation - why Levy never gets asked about this by Journos or the THST I will never know

Lots of Spurs current players were at the club long before Jose turned up. So it is the same set if players that keep getting managers the sack.

Yep but still awkward. Wonder if Jose offered him any advice on the Spurs job and in particular Levy
