Absolutely down to the previous 3 games.
2-0 up in two that would have given you an extra 4 points.
Should beat Southampton at home without question. Those were the games you choked in. You needed to go to the Etihad with a gap.
Still on balance it's a fair distance Arsenal have covered this season, a club on the up but once you have injuries it highlights the lack of depth. Another strong summer and no reason why you can't go again.
Need another CB, CM and CF.
The Everton loss is another one quickly followed up by the draw at home to Brentford.
To not go into that Everton game with a proper plan of action at set pieces cost you dearly - Odegaard marking Tarkowski is just mental.
Youngest team in the league and if you were honest you would say it's the older heads that have been slightly found out against the best team in the world.
So if we can add 3 starters for next season and 2 backups, I think we will be better.
The thing is, City are at their peak now and will need to rebuild somewhere along the line. They will be worse without Gundogan and De Bryune in their engine room in the next few years. So there is hope!
You should add Xhaka’s unnecessary spat with TAA in the Liverpool game to this. Was completely unnecessary when you were cruising at 2-0 and riled up the Anfield crowd.
Football is about moments isn't it. I am sure all teams can pick at moments etc, but it is so infuriating when a lot of the ones we had were seemingly avoidable.
We need an established CB and need to see what Kiwior is about. We need a Partey challenger who WILL replace him and be better within 12 months. We need an upgrade on Xhaka even though he has vastly improved. And we need a prolific striker. I wish Toney was not facing a long ban as he would be perfect for us.
But also..Arteta needs to be better about rotation. We need to create a squad of 20 who can interchange and still keep the level high. We can't afford not playing players except for the Europa then seeing them underperformed and not use them again. And then when we DO need them, they are not ready and are totally match fit. Tierney, Tomiyasu, ESR once fit, Trossard...these are players who should have gotten better rotation.
