I would agree, doesn't have much in the locker apart from puffing his chest out and looking busy.
Valued at 45m according to transfermarkt, be some deal if you could shift him for near that money.

He's good guy by all accounts and appears to have a good attitude but he's so limited. Great guy to have in the squad but nowhere near good enough for a club with Top 4 aspirations.
I agree he's limited, but I don't agree he sits too deep. If anything, I feel he's too busy running around out of position - including getting too far forward and/or wide - so that when he inevitably gives the ball away there's no cover.
I feel like he's positionally unreliable to the extent that he can't play in a midfield 2. He chases the ball around too much and lacks positional awareness.
Yeah he is a bit limited. I don't somehow think there'd be a starting place for him if we had designs on challenging for more than just top 4 all the time. He's a good player to have in the squad though when you compare to flops like GLC and Ndombele who did nothing for us.

Squad player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed
Think the perception of him is a lot better than the reality
Our Midfield is responsible for our weak back 4/5 being under too much pressure and for the likes of Son, Richie and Kulu all feeding of scraps because he never have the ball, never have control of the game and our distribution is so poor, it leaves them massively isolated..... Its why Kane has to play so bloody deep to create anything !
A good squad player. Industrial. But we need more creativity in midfield.
Sadly I have to agree with these evaluations of PEH, he is hard working but unfortunately that is not enough these days.
We need to pick up another midfielder who cannot only see a pass through opposition defences, but is also a good striker of the ball especially when it comes to shooting from 20-25 yards out.
Hojberg is limited in both of these requirements and should really now be oly squad player for the future.
I get frustrated with PEH when he just moves the ball back or sideways.
Then I get frustrated with him when he tries a difficult forward pass and loses it.
Basically, he's just not good enough. I prefer skipp and would love Bissouma to anchor a CM 3 alongside Bentancur and behind Maddison.
PEH has not been great, but out of him and Skipp, it would be PEH all day long. Skipp runs around a lot, but doesn`t do a lot else. PEH is clealry the better player, although not in great form.

Would be very happy with a midfield 3 of bissouma, Bentencur and Maddison
On paper that is very strong and a nice balance too
Son and Kane (please stay) up top
New centre back with Romero and Lenglet (I’m definitely in the minority but I like him, brings the ball out well and has good passing and we can’t afford two top class centre backs and Maddison )
Porro and udogie/Reggie down the flanks ….it all sounds good and needs Maddison and a centre back
Will it happen ….nah

strangely only recent game he’s started to go awol 😳
You do realise he's not supposed to be the creative player....
His job should be get it...give it...ideally over no more than 8yrds.

Exactly ….but he keeps trying to do stupid turns and suicidal passes
Freund knew his limitations and that’s who he should be
I love his attitude and work rate but he does think he is better than he is on the creative side
Should stick to protecting as he can be good at that
Don’t think he’s a bad player but he stinks of the 2020s.
Get rid
It’s alarming that the player committee is made up of 3 players who clearly need to be moved on, Kane, and a completely average academy product.

Yep it's a shambles.
Totally agree, I`ve been saying this ever since he joined, he`s just not good enough, particularly playing in a midfield 2. He might be a useful squad player playing in a 3, but I would rather we just upgraded. Apparently we are paying him 100K a week also, I would expect way more for that kind of wage.
You can`t really fault his work rate and attitude (most of the time), but we need a better baller in there.
Frankly Hojbjerg has good games and bad games. But he IS the driving force in midfield and you cannot fault his commitment to fight for every ball. Bentancur is out. Skipp is even less reliable. Perisic is a very good player, but he does not defend well.
Of the whole squad, no player has missed less playing time than Hojbjerg.
"Unlike Dembele He makes everyone around him worse"
******************
That is ridiculous, totally idiotic, and untrue.
You might as well say the opposite..."everyone else around him makes him worse". Name a good midfield that we've got?
He just slows everything down.
I have never seen a player so pointless
90% of the time, he just gives the ball back to whoever passed it to him, then demands it back.
He is one of those players that I have never got and can't see what the big who har is. Others include, but are not limited to
Raheem Sterling
Mason Mount
Kalvin Phillips
Mount I'd agree with....I don't know what he's supposed to be.
PEH while limited is further down our list of problems than some.....
PEH very slow and has brain fart moments in every game! He needs dropping imo
i’d just promote from the under21
Both Hobby and Skip are not the right caliber right now
