Are England on the Telly tonight?
Oh and to answer your question, I'd rather score the winning goal for Palace.
But then I'm Scottish.
Yeah England are on Sky.
What about if it was your club vs your country? Who would you go for?
I'd suggest the chances of either happening are slim! (although Dundee United, my club, were once cheated out of a European Cup final place against Liverpool in the 80s when Roma bribed a ref).
However, I think I'd pick scoring the winner for Scotland. It would mean more to the country as a whole and would have a huge impact here on everything.
I'd pick Palace because I'd become a permanent club legend (and if it ever happened I would be Lord of Crystal Palace!) and it would mean a lot more.
hmmmm- this is a game I used to play as a kid.
I would probably have to say England- but it is not an easy decision. I think it comes down to the fact that although I would love Palace to win the Champion's League, for obvious reasons, being a Palace fan is not all about winning.
We talk about plastic Man Utd fans living in South London- could you get used to plastic Palace fans living in Manchester who have never been to Selhurst? I actually think that being a Palace fan is seen almost as independent and alternative- supporting the Eagles is sometimes a bit like listening to Morrissey (in more ways than one!) I am not sure Mozzer would have the same appeal to me if he was always releasing number 1 singles.
Having said that, I am old fashioned and still think that playing for your country should be the ultimate honour- to the extent that I would prefer if if they did not sell replica England kits. The only people who should be able to wear it are the players.
Well, you asked...
Well we've got a Palace fan up in Dundee who might not have been to Selhurst Park
You played it as a kid and now as a grown man! It's true that boys never grow up. I did think that the World Cup is the ultimate competition so might not be a fair scenario but I still stick with my decision. Doesnt have to be the CL just prefer to be a Palace legend!
The tally so far stands at 2 for the country and 1.5 for the club
Make that 3 for country.
I'd rather score a World Cup winning goal all day long. Then, as the Hammers do, Palace can lay claim to winning the World Cup for England. You'd be a double hero
