Yet another injury in training. In fact we're the only club I can think of where even our keeper gets regularly injured. In training.
Could be coincidence I guess.
Anyway, we know you get 30 - 40 games a season out of Thiago, always have, so just enjoy them imo. He's quality.
Since Thiago has been at the club Ox has been more available than him. Let that sink in.
Thiago. 10million per year for?
seems to me that if barca want him they should be given him for free.
Square peg in a round hole from the start.

Week even our manager pulls his hammy for a short sprint
I completely agree OP. We should move him on if possible. Of course we already need a couple or so midfielders, and him leaving perhaps we would need three. It's OK if he stays too though. As you pointed out, he's great when the team is playing well and attacking, but when things get tough he isn't really as useful IMO. Next season might suit him better than this season.
Fab, Hendo, TAA, Baj, Jones Elliot plus a couple new midfielders isn't too bad IMO. I don't expect much movement anywhere else. Attack looks set but perhaps we could sign a right back too if TAA moves to midfield more regularly.

We've been carrying three injury prone midfielders for years now. No wonder we look so sheet in that area.
I think if you're getting 30-40 games out of a top class player then you're good. The issue is when you don't have a similar player to replace him, it changes the whole dynamic of the midfield when he's out. Although we flogged him to death this season to be fair. His games clearly need to be managed and they weren't. Although the reason for that is understandable considering the struggles this season.

Vicious cycle of injuries and then over burdening some players. Moving ox snd keita is hopefully a good step. Of course no guarantees whoever we get won't be injury prone but hopefully yhe looking at players with good availability record
Season 1 - 30 games
Season 2 - 39 games
This season - 28 games
Remember not all these are starts. There is the dreaded road to recovery before he gets consistent games.
Next summer he will be another player who leaves on a free. We really did not do our due diligence with Thiago. Paying a lot of money for a injury prone player.
He played a massive part in his well we did last season, huge, and we have two trophies to show for it.
I'll take that, plus I like watching him play football.

He didn't play in league cup last year. Only time he was supposed to play was when he got injured in the final
Fair point, but he did play 10 CL games.
Quality player when fit but I’d always be wary of buying from Bayern. We’ve been caught with Hargreaves and Schweinsteiger.
There’s even been a slight drop off with Lewandowski.

We got them back with Mane
Just about to post an article saying this!
AOC
Keita
Thiago
Physically not up to playing for a klopp team, really good players but no good if you cannot rely on them, they take up 3 team places.
Whoever we sign next HAS TO BE able to be physically up to playing for klopps team.
Great footballer but an absolute crock.
We can't complain too much though, we knew this when we bought him.

absolutely true. its actually got worse
Thiago last season was great. We kept possession better as a team and he moved the ball quickly - something our other midfielders aren't always good at. Our win % with him in the team was notably higher.
This year all our other midfielders have either been injured or in horrible form. The team didn't keep the ball and he was overplayed. Injury was pretty much an inevitability but given it was only him and an inconsistent Elliot showing anything in midfield, what choice was there.
We're moving on Keita and Ox this summer and will get another couple of (hopefully) reliable players in terms of fitness. In that scenario we can absolutely afford to keep Thiago for the possession games, for control of games. And if we don't overplay him then chances are we'll get 30'ish games from an exceptionally talented player. Works for me.
We've got enough midfield issues with the two out of contract players leaving, Milner nearing pension age and huge question marks over the form of Fabinho and Henderson. I certainly wouldn't be adding to that pile of questions by moving on another senior player.
Don't worry Bellingham will fill a massive void.......oh wait!
