Goal difference only -1
Got them wasting time
Confidence boost for next few weeks
Thought ref was a disgrace. Everything went in their favour and he handed out cards to ours like confetti.
Amazing to only lose by a goal and not by 5 so whether by luck or by chance we have preserved some semblance of dignity. But full credit for them sticking at it and showing true grit. 2 wonders goals by them really killed us but onto Newcastle and I think there is definire cause for optimism we can get a result now.
Clutching at straws again, terrible first half,City eased off second half but still dominant. Defending again was bad with City opening us up at will with the most basic passes.
Got to start our best finisher by a country mile and leave the dumpling on the bench.

I get that Low... but a week ago we would have still crumbled meakly against a half hearted City side in the second half so fairs fair I'm prepared to acknowledge an improvement in concentration and application even if you can't unfortunately.... yet 😂

Agreed
Missed all the goals as I was at a party for our King. Kept sneaking into Sky Sports but missed the game really.
At least I can watch MOTD and not have to hide behind the sofa.
From what I did see we are looking at the Champions of Europe and of course the PL.
Only one goal difference is a real bonus.

Macca, City didn’t take the foot off the pedal, they just ran out of ideas. We sacrificed attacking intent for defensive solidity and we saw a much improved performance in the second half.
I was very sceptical about this appointment, but we go into next week with some self belief. We saw square pegs in square holes. Forshaw and Greenwood both showed they have something to offer and Rods showed why he should start against Newcastle. The team will get confidence from this. I think Big Sam will feel he’s got something he can work with.
Over a week ago I was fearing potentially at least, a record PL drubbing - City destroyed the Arsenal.
Firpo was poor for both goals. I was screaming at the TV for him to close Mahrez instead of letting him pick a cross, as soon as he does close, Mahrez skipped past and tee'd up Gundogan. Same thing for the second.

Oh that's really good to hear Marschy..because I didn't actually see the game I just listened to the obviously biased Leeds hating Talksport report
The seeds have been sewn today👍
Everton got Man City next. They won’t do defensive like us today, as a result they might be more open and City could get 5+. If that happens, our -1 goal difference today might be be a godsend. They’ve got Brighton and Wolves away, and finally Bournemouth at home. Bournemouth will either be on the beach, or relaxed and put Everton away. That’s the key match, but there’s a chance Everton might not get another point.
Leicester, away at Fulham and Newcastle, home against Liverpool, then last match at home v West Ham. I’m fancying West Ham to nick that. Leicester might not get another point.
Notts Forest, away at Chelsea and Palace, home against Arsenal. Likely zero points. Issue is their next match, at home v Southampton. Forest been decent at home so you’ve gotta expect them to get 3 points from that.
So, maybe we need one point only to survive?
Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about…. But I am winning Penshawdave’s Relegation forecast game so don’t be quick to doubt me 😎

Sal...I think we really need Southampton to beat Forest and the Saints will be giving it everything or else they're definitely down. Daniel James then needs to do us a big favour against Leicester because I fear with Wolves winning today, they're safe and Everton will beat them and probably Bournemouth so for me it's Leicester Forest and Southampton we realisticly can finish above.

There’s a haystack full of straws here.
Well, some outsider around here said today we should be covering our asses!..
All I can say is if that was a pounding, than we've as good a chance as anyone for staying up!..
I'll say it, under Orta's pal Gracia I felt the team were
free falling back to the Championship. I also was not
thinking let's bring in Sam. But, we did. And I was all
for it as the alternative was sh 1 te with no fight.
Then I read that it may well have been Kinnear who
opened up his file-fax and called Big Sam - they know
each other from their West Ham days - based off of
today alone, I might need to give props to the Eton Bell.
Today's performance could be massive. I now feel like
Allardyce could do it. If he does, bloody hell, Kinnear.

(btw, ‘Eton Bell’ 😂👍)
Firpo was awful. I thought RK and Wober looked quite good together though.
I know Batts that after Bielsa it's almost sacrilege to suggest that it's a pity Kinnear didn't insist on his ex West Ham mate taking over when JM was axed because I've no doubt we'd be comfortably safe by now if that had happened.
He's here now and perhaps it's the way it had to happen without there being a riot and with a whole week of hard graft on the training pitch I expect Big Sam will know more about his troops and the starting line up will almost certainly have at least a couple of alterations from today's.
Macca, it explains that heated argument, post game,
on the touchline between Orta and Kinnear. Fairly sure
Kinnear was telling Orta he fcked up yet again (Gracia).
Hot under the collar, he calls Big Sam after talking to
Radz etc. And the rest is history. May well be an exciting
end to the season, in a good way.

Yes Orta really has been like an almighty boil on the backside that needed lancing which Kinnear finally seemed to muster the courage at long last of doing.
This time next week is probably going to decide a lot because if we lose after today the confidence is going to be back at rock bottom even though before today we expected the last 2 games to be where our points are earned.
Today has raised everyone's expectation that we can get at least a point against Newcastle... we mustn't waste this momentum now which I'm sure Big Sam will drum into the players in his no nonsense dulcit tones.
If we went down but went down fighting would anyone else like to keep Big Sam?
Prob better asking this question at the end of the season after we see the next 3 games
