Between them I think we have the RB or RWB positions covered for next season. First summer that's been the case in a long time !

The fact that so many dumbasses were writing off Porro after barely half a season at the club tells you everything you need to know about modern day football fans. Give him time to settle at the club for freaks sake, then judge him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy was slagging him off the moment he walked through the door
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As you were with Emerson. So not taking lectures off you Don.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. I actually made a decision on Emerson after watching him stink out the RWB spot. Yes, i can agree he’s better defensively but he still isn’t a good RWB. You slagged off Porro the moment we signed him and still continue to slag him off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don, stop talking bullsh+++te.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy, you made the decision he wasn’t great the moment he walked through the door and have continued with it since. You just didn’t like the fact fans wanted him signed and he was going to replace Emerson. He hasn’t been outstanding i can accept that, but you haven’t even gave him a chance. 2 goals, 2 assists. Not too shabby for someone you don’t rate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don, I have said I was willing to give Porro a chance going into next season. You wrote off Emerson from the off, and still are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wrote Emerson off as a RWB yes because he isn’t good enough there. Saw him enough times to make that decision. Doesn’t offer anything in attack. That being said, defensively he looks better so we need to avoid him playing as a RWB
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You beginning to see what a idiotic wum he is, he filtered me but must like you

Emerson behind Porro has to be the way forward. Let Porro develop the strength in his game (attacking) and relieve him of his poor defensive abilities.
Credit to Emerson for making himself worthy of at least being a squad option after most of us couldn't wait to have him replaced. Whether he is good enough to remain a first team starter into next season is another matter but current form dictates that he should be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Emerson will be first choice going forward. Just back from injury, and straight in the side. Porro in front of him looks OK.
Playing Porro in the same role as yesturday opens the door for Spence, to be his understudy and keeping Emerson.
A shout out to Porro today also, a great cross onto Kane`s head and he is a lively wide player when he does not have to worry about defending.
-------------
Haven't seen much comment on it but fantastic vision by Harry to see that Porro was wide right and free with a great pass to him to receive the cross back for the goal.
Harry has already commented on Porro saying how fantastic his delivery is. Yes he needs to work on his defensive game, but finally we have a RWB that can deliver. Will be a big player next season under the right manager and better defence

I think his attacking has been a bit mixed since he got here. Some good shots, some bad ones, and the same with his delivery. We know it to be his strong point though from his time at Sporting and hopefully, like with yesterday, it will develop and become more consistent with him not having to concentrate so much on defending.

Very true about the goals. As many PL goals as Perisic and Richarlison combined in over 40 fewer appearances.

I know.
His record I guess isn't really anything out of the ordinary, it's just that Richarlison's and Perisic's goal tallies have been that bad.
Yeah Porro has been good going forward but the right side has been exposed on more than one occassion. Leicester and Liverpool put 4 past us, Newcastle 6, Southampton 3.
He has been terrible defensively and we should all be grateful to Emerson coming back to grab a clean sheet yday. And Mason's formation for getting the best out of both players. It's only one game mind.

Porro will need time to adapt, and he's on his third manager so its very hard to judge him at all really.
To me the sign of a good natural full back is when they are at the back post, if they are switched on, and well positioned aware of where the opposition are and well placed to deal with a cross from the other side. Porro doesnt seem to know where is man is whereas Emerson is excellent in these scenarios. Walker always used to lose him man in this position and the likes of TAA are also weak in this area. To me they are not natural defenders who know how and where to position themselves, but this can be worked on and improved but as with Walker & TAA it hasnt held them back from being top class players
