Would take a point today.

Sat right behind the away dugout so will try my best with a few verbals. Players need to back me up

I'll see how it goes, but I don't understand why we don't play the player who can find the back of the net up top. It's not as if Rodrigo puts in less of a shift than Bamford.

Not bashing Bamford overall, but he is out of form at the moment.

That sounds like he’s going all out Bielsa, Don? 4-1- 4-1?
Robles
Rasmus Ayling Wober Firpo
Koch
Roca Forshaw Greenwood Harrison
Bamford
That’s what we look like with Koch in the sweeper role. It looks very defensive, with a lot depending on Bamford.
Arsenal showed that you can get any Newcastle by running at them, so maybe we play Gnonto instead of Roca? But that unbalances us towards the left side.
Toon will be looking to bypass the midfield and get balls to Almiron and Izak, so I think Koch in front of the defence might cut off some of that supply, but he is no KP.
My guess is that we will try and congest the midfield to limit balls out to the wings. Toon have a good away record against lower teams like us, so they will leave some space for us to get at them, and look to hit us on the counter. They are also very fit and get a lot of goals in the second half.
The key, then is a disciplined performance from us, sticking to a compact formation, and taking our chances when they come, because there won’t be many of them.
I think we can hold out, but not indefinitely. 1-1, Rodrigo to snatch a late equalizer for us.

Gnonto is surely being protected for a transfer. How is he behind Greenwood and Harrison...

Don't know how accurate this is but BBC has Rodrigo and McKennie as DM's.

Phil Haye saying its a likely to be a middle 3 of McKennie, Koch and Greenwood. I hope I eat humble pie but we deserve relegation for that lineup alone.

This baffles me. Miracle needed and then some.

Not bashing Rutter personally but my God what a waste
of 35 mill. Absolutely flushed down the bog for a laugh.

Sol, BBC's graphics showing supposed line-ups
is always comedy gold. Hardly ever get it right.

However they line up, come on lads. Bamford for
the hat trick.

Probably the most fatal signing we made. We just needed a 8 - 10 goal striker and that stage of the season. He didn't even get 1 ....

Orta should never DoF again based on that signing alone. Reckless and misguided beyond belief.

Looks a 532 with Harrison as a number 10 maybe?

Big call playing Greenwood, brutal call playing Bamford. This is a team for the long ball aficionados. Toon will relish this.

With Bamford and Rodrigo up top. Kinda makes sense but im not too sure

So, not only are we drinking in the last chance saloon, but they called last orders 20 mins ago and they’re already chucking out the p!ss-heads who won’t drink up

Apart from Izak, Almiron, Wilson, Guimares, and Trippier, what are we worried about?

Putting 'where the money came from' aside,
Newcastle rebuilt their team brilliantly. And they
didn't do a City. Which I thought they would.

Built from the back. Paid off massively. Tough
ask today. But, you never know.
