Rasmus was fantastic yesterday, and not in his usual position.
He's the sort of character we need at the moment.
Rasmus had a fantastic game at CB yesterday. Might be his best position? Was probably motm. I thought he played well vs man city too. Forshaw looked good, neat and tidy when be came on.
Robles has been an improvement over Meslier so shame he wasn't picked sooner.
Rasmus MOTM yesterday. Big Sam Getting best out his limitations.
Mckennie was the same. Clearly system and/or previous managers have made these players worse.
This season, in particular has been very corrosive until SA walked through the door.
Fear all too late but you never know.
Got to give the team credit. Point obtained against the rising footy force in Europe and Paddy has to take some credit but needs to find his shooting boots asap.
Robles isn’t a great keeper but he looks calm and confident in his ability. Two things that Meslier hasn’t been. There was a moment where he caught the ball and players started running for the quick throw and the crowd were shouting for him to play it, Robles just turned around and did a calm down gesture to the stand. I loved that - this is the game play, we are sticking to it.
Rasmus is a terrible footballer, but maybe could make a decent, if old school, centreback.
It’s surprising that Rodrigo hasn’t played off the right for us before, I think that was his standard position for Valencia
I'll hold my hands up to being less than impressed when Allardyce first got the job. But credit to him for what he's done with the defence already.
Meslier had been complacent going all the way back to Bielsa's time.
Struijk is not a centre-half.
It hasn't taken him long to see what admittedly looked fairly obvious to me.
Fingers crossed he finds a way for us to score more goals at the other end.
Yes pretty much on the same page as you Jonty with your observations and obviously an alcohol fuelled idiot will no longer be allowed back at Elland Road.
I don't mind admitting that I would be happy for Big Sam to stay on regardless of our status next season. I like his no nonsense get it up 'em approach for which the team yesterday were rightly applauded at full time.
I'm just not sure Bamford and Rodrigo up top is the answer but I'm prepared to be proved wrong on that. I also think Rasmus could turn out to be our new Pontus.
What a masterstroke playing RK in the centre because he could have used Struiyk instead but could see the merits of Kristenson at cb were superior to any other options and I'm not too sure he will change it even if Cooper is fit next week.
Koch is another one Big Sam sees as a better holding defensive midfielder than centre back and I think with him and Foreshaw and Mckennie we look miles stronger in midfield.
If we can take the best parts of yesterday and eradicate the worst then I'm very hopeful of at least 4 more points and we will see if that's good enough to survive.
Although I understand the Bamford slagging I feel uncomfortable joining in which I have previously out of sheer frustration at what could of been, I'm conscious of the negative mental health effect that can have.
No matter how much money a person earns, excessive negative feedback will have a very detrimental effect on PB's mental state and I'm sure his own personal disappointment and pride and ok ego are at rock bottom after yesterday's missed penalty.
I'm sure we all recognise as a parent brother, sister, friend etc of someone struggling with mental health issues that name calling bear bating online bullying serves no benefit to anyone and only harms the intended victim of said abuse and I wish it would stop, but unfortunately life can be very cruel and unforgiving.
Of course there should be no abuse of Bamford but that’s no reason to hold back on criticism. If he is in the fragile state of mind many suggest, he shouldn’t be on the pitch. And I’m sure he wouldn’t have put himself to take a pen if that was the case. But he shouldn’t have been allowed to pull rank, which he does all too often. However, sounds like he had a good game for a change and I suspect that’s the Big Sam effect.
He had a decent game in terms of holding the ball up. But that’s part of his job. Other part he’s falling desperately short at the moment.
The pen was missed fair enough, but for me it was the headed chance that should have been buried - didn’t even get his head on it hit his shoulder - done that a few times in recent weeks. Should be bread and butter stuff for him really
I echo others Rasmus was excellent yesterday. MOM.
McKennie had probably his best game.
Gnonto made a big difference when he came on.
He'll be gone end of season. He'll go one to do great
things elsewhere and we'll rue that. But that's so Leeds.
Bamford was playing well up to him stupidly taking the
penalty then he fell apart again. His shot into his own
hand summed up his season for me.
Firpo was a fcking disaster. But won a pen. Odd fella.
Wober must be playing injured. He's a shadow of the
bloke who turned up in January.
On Bill, I'm glad he extended his deal. He's massively
likable character who I hope takes even more of a
leadership role next season. He adds a ton going
forward for sure.
I'll add that I thought Rodrigo had another solid game.
Not sure he got enough love for the second half clearance off the line either. Really technically gifted
player who up until Marsch, wasn't used correctly.
Shame he'll be gone this summer. He's looked one
of our best players all season.
I like the look of Robles
Meslier has a high ceiling and we must remember his age
But Robles looks like a keeper who knows his game. He makes me feel assured and I haven't felt that for ages
Some of our fan base are proper idiots. The guy that confronted Eddie Howe yesterday was bad enough but now Leeds have released a statement about Bamfords family receiving death threats - comments about his 2 year old daughter and dog.
Wtf is wrong with these people. Absolute disgrace.
Just read that A14. As much as I bang on about him,
there's a line. What is being reported has way beyond
that line. And has to stop. Good on the club for the
press release.
I like the look of Robles
^^^
Me too Yorkie.
I'd be happy extending him and have him in net
next season if we drop. Or even if we stay up.
Only 32. In keeper years, that's still young.
It seems apparent that Men will move on to the
next level this summer. Good luck to him. He's
been great for us.
I roasted Bamford during the game for his penalty miss. Every mistake after that just seemed to be magnified. We know his limitations as a player and on reflection, there are other aspects of the penalty miss to think about, but he does not do himself any favours. A simple one line apology saying he messed up and will do his best to make it up in the last two games would do an awful lot to restore his integrity.

Hi antics for the second penalty were weird though. He got himself booked but then kept taunting their player to hit it to his right. I said just stay in the middle and had he done that he would have saved it. No way was the penalty going to his right.
Jsut read that Leif Davis got player of the season at Ipswich after providing 14 assists from Left back! Wonder if he'd have been a better option at LB than Firpo.
Big difference between League 1 and the Premier League, Outwood.
