It's just one of those risks when you walk the dog down the long, scenic route.
There have been a fair few examples of teams not doing so well in their league but going far in the CL.
As with all cups there is an element of luck of the draw too - Liverpool had Inter, Benfica and a semi against Villarreal last year for instance.
You might need more luck, but you also need more bottle.

That wasn't luck as much as a generally poor standard of CL that year though. In theory liverpool could've played Barca instead of benfica, and Bayern or Juve instead of villareal, but they'd have probably beaten them all anyway because of how poor those teams were against benfica and villareal.
Or they could have played Real or Man City...
The champions league final is tonight.
But if you're saying that they need to be drawn against two specific teams to not be classed as lucky, then their odds of being lucky are pretty high.
