I don't know why everyone is falling over in awe of them. This European cup is going to be the most expensive one ever. It's been 14 years in the making and over a few billion by now.

It's been inevitable since day 1 that eventually they would do it. I'm surprised it's taken them this long really given the advantages they have had.

Nobody gives a crap about the second man to walk on the moon either. We will always be Neil Armstrong in that respect. 😉

United have spent vastly more than City and celebrated winning the Carabao Cup. This is a very weird post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Last time I checked we didn't have a guy pump a few billion into our club. I think that's an important point you missed out.

We have wasted an awful lot of money though. Nobody in our fanbase has ever said otherwise.

You've had three of them when taking inflation into account, John Henry Davies, James W. Gibson, and lets not forget your Murdoch bonus.

Ok right so goalposts have moved and now it’s where the money came from rather than how much the trophy has cost?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course it matters where it comes from. City haven't earned this money. It's been handed to them on a plate.

Call yourself a Liverpool fan? Hahaha. Go speak to actual supporters not arm chair fans of what they think about the oil clubs.

what a joke. United have historically benefited from massive cash injections that put them were they were in the 90s and 2000s

They didn't have to do what Arsenal did and make sacrifices to stay competitive by building a bigger stadium, it was handed to United on a plate.

If City do the treble, there's no reason Pep shouldn't be put in the same category as Fergie, anything else is just sour grapes.

And the irony is of course that the OP keeps calling us bottlers. What do you call going from the biggest dominant superclub to a decade later a club that goes in for the 'Worthington Cup' and tries to put their failure down to City injecting money

What cash injections exactly? Do you mean from all the prize money we earned by winning trophies? We didn’t have an owner just rock up and dump billions in our lap. Every penny we’ve spent has been generated by the club, not artificially inflated and then hidden.

Maybe he means when the club was first floated, but even then, the popularity had been built over decades.

No money has been 'pumped' into City for 7 years now.

During that time, United have spent about £600m more than us to achive a lot less.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It has. You just don't know about it. Nothing your board does is transparent.

Sham companies with fake CEO's springing out of nowhere.

Great on the pitch. Filthy cheats off it.

Massive cash injections by money we have earned ourselves? Yeah I'm aware.

So United fans don't know Old Trafford was first built with a cash donation from a wealthy benefactor. Gibson then injected funds into the club and lobbied the rebuild after the war.

The stadium you have has not historically come from earned money. Without both these cash injections you would have been nothing.

The least you can do is understand your history

Had these two not injected cash into your club you would not have even been around in the 90s and 2000s ffs

The Old Trafford that Fergie inherited was built with money from the War Damages Commission, the World Cup '66 fund and the Football Pools Development fund.

The much maligned Glazers have redeveloped 3 of the 4 sides since then.
