Back to back European Finals

“Mourinho was behind our comeback to UCL heights and attractive offensive play, he faced the best Barca team in History and made it through. He laid down the foundation for La Decima. Sure he can be exhausting and maybe enjoys the spotlight a bit too much, but his tenure was the last time where we consistently put in great performances.”

“Mouriniho is still my favorite manager of all time. We were just unlucky in the CLs....that penalty loss to Bayern still breaks me.”

Let's be clear here: Mourinho's entire Champions League legacy can be summed up in overcoming the Olympique Lyonnais stumbling block, and a controversial R16 victory over a 10-man United where Danny facking Welbeck threatened to ruin the party.

That penalty loss to Bayern was a disgrace. We jumped out to a 2-0 lead in under 15 minutes, then tried to sit on it for the rest of the game and ended up being bossed on our own turf (again!) and playing for penalties. Absolutely got what we deserved.

The year before? Embarrassing capitulation, camping in our own half and the Bernabéu and trying to kick lumps out of Barça.

The following year? After snoozing in the league the entire year and an era-defining defeat of Galatasaray in the quarter-finals, another embarrassing capitulation, this time giving up 4 goals to Lewandowski in Dortmund after trying to play it safe with two DMs. Genius.

Our remaining CL ko round rivals?

CSKA Moscow, Spurs, Galatasaray and facking APOEL Nicosia.

Hero!

"Mourinho may have burned some bridges with the club, but man was he important to the 3peat squad. Madrid went from being trashed by Barca and the ro16 curse to winning La Liga and having a CL winning squad. One of the greatest managers of all time imo.

Also not afraid to speak his mind, he was pretty arrogant but at least he showed personality, unlike generic coaches like Klopp and his inspirational quotes (no offense) or Pep."

Lol. The vast majority of those people have never even been close to the Bernabéu, and they're mostly talking out their asses anyway.

He didn't build a squad in any meaningful way.

Literally 2 players in the "3peat" team came in under Mourinho, and only one of his signings you could directly attribute to him.

A number of his players were already league champions when he arrived. He had European champions, and World champions.

And ZZ and Carlo are both more than enough proof that you don't need to talk yourself up as God's gift to football and insult anyone who disagrees with you in order to have a personality. Mourinho's personality can be succinctly defined as "cᴜnt".

Saw a good quote on YouTube. "All the Mourinho fans who lauded his win last season must now do the same for Moyes"
