It’s a marathon not a sprint

Don’t have a problem with us selling Jimenez and Podence because to me we needed an upgrade in the forward line. I’d be happy to see Hwang go as well. But we simply must bring in some goalscoring potential.

We are fine in defensive midfield with Lemina, Gomes and Traore. And in Cunha, Neto, Sarabia, Nunes and maybe Scott we will be fine between the halfway line and the opponents area. But as I’ve felt for the last two seasons, who is going to put the ball in the net?

Sasa hasn’t played for a year and even if he is good he will need time to get his game together. I would like Fabio to stay but not as our first choice number 9. We only scored 31 last season and if you look at the goalscoring potential of our squad as it stands I can’t see us making much of an improvement on that

PSG have accepted an offer of £259m for Mbappe from Al Hilal in Saudi. If that goes through he’ll have the pleasure of playing with Ruben Neves

I have a feeling that we will only bring in another striker if Fabio goes on loan. If he doesn't then it will be him, Sasa and Cunha as the number 9 & 10 options, Hwang could possibly be considered a number 10 too, so in effect we have options for a front two. Could possibly add Nathan Fraser to that group too unless he goes on loan.

Whilst ideally I would add a proven goal scorer to that group I cant see it happening unless one of them moves. The wider forward strength is what we lack now after having a glut of players in that area. Neto and Sarabia being the only ones left unless we consider Hwang to be a widey.

In an ideal world we would keep Silva in the squad give him games and have an experienced proven PL option working with him. Relying on what we currently have and expecting them to deliver the goals does feel like a big gamble.

taylor perry gone to shrewsbury on a two year deal. Dunno if there was much of a fee

If Sasa doesn’t hit the ground running then we are in deep 💩 if we don’t bring anybody else in.

I don’t think we will get away with such a pathetic goal tally next season

I think a fit and always available Cunha scores around the ten mark to be honest.

But I do think we still need another CF, it is a big risk thinking Sasa and Fabio can do the job. That said, IF Sasa can stay fit then he could well be good for ten also.

I think our goal tally goes up but at the end of the day we will still be short of having what we would consider an exciting or indeed successful season. Top seven would appear a pipe dream right now.

Top seven is completely out of the question in my view. Bottom seven is much more likely.

Wished I shared your optimism on Cunha. I don’t see him being anything other than a one in five or one in six striker. He’s done nothing in recent seasons to suggest otherwise.

There is a lot riding on the immediate success of our Austrian Peter Crouch in my view.

Just saw that Neves scored a penalty on his Al Hilal debut. He won't get much of a look in when Mbappe joins so he better make the most of that.

I think he'd been released by wolves so probably not.

I think Cunha has the ability to become a really important and exciting player for us. But a prolific scorer he ain’t.

Sasa hasn’t played for a year and we’ve seen with Raul, Jonny and Neto that it’s not easy to bounce back from such a long absence. Even if he is a good centre forward, and none of us know whether he is or not, my expectations of what he’ll do in the first half of next season is pretty low.

Have to assume Sasa won't be ready for 90 mins til mid September at best

Funny how Neves got some stick for going to Saudi just for the cash, and he’s admitted he did, but now he might get to play every week with the best player in the world plus the likes of Koulibaly from Chelsea and Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio. Fast developing into a squad that could more than hold their own in the Premier League

posted on 24/7/23

Think Lembikisa could have held his own at a better championship club than Rotherham who will likely struggle. But at least it gives him championship experience and it should help him to be better placed to be in our squad next year

posted on 24/7/23

Evidently Albion wanted to take Lembikisa. The cheek of it

Obviously he would prefer Rotherham to Albion

At least we will receive the now customary fee.

Can’t say I’m enthused by the links to Che Adams. Got to be better strikers than that we can find.
