Be interesting to see what kind of budget DD has sanctioned should BR arrive, not fussed about his salary that’s purely between an employer and their employee and IMO their business and no one else’s. In all walks of life you agree your salary with your employer football is no different. It’s the budget to improve the squad I am curious about
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There will no doubt be 10-15m available plus the potential money from the Hatate and Kyogo sales.

Don't see you spending it all if they are sold though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You think he’s going to come back on a massively increased salary to be given such a tiny budget and be asked to sell players if he wants to increase those transfer kitty funds?

Have I woken up to “Stupid Morning” or something?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I said he would get 10m or 15m before any sales plus whatever money from sales on top. if you could take some deep breaths relax and read. Sounds like your on holiday, why you so nippy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s nippy cos nippy is not banksy

If Goldson had played would clearly have been different in Liverpool game. Mental to suggest otherwise, we completely fell apart after he went. Was one all at that point. Anyone saying a King Davies partnership is no different genuinely has no clue, and clearly didn’t watch the game.

The score impacted the result and us getting worst record. I’m not saying we’d have drawn or won, who knows. But anyone saying it had no impact is mental and didn’t watch game.

Same as in league, would have been closer if Goldson hadn’t had injuries. Same as if any team lost one of their best players, and a leader. Especially considering the guys replacing him.

results come in three ways... draw, loss, win. I dont think it would have changed the result perhaps the scoreline.

Yes (the league) it may have been closer, again dont think it would have changed the result of it however.

The result was 7-1, of the result was 2-1 it would have been different.

The point is it clearly had an impact, people saying otherwise are clearly wrong. Holding the CL worst record against Gio isn’t fair. His achievements in Europe were outstanding. Not good enough overall. But folk give him a harder time than deserved.

Some bizarre chat and reactions today

Agree with Renegade, re GVB also Balgoun Great player when fit, often injured and was red carded a number of times in big matches. Liability and no-one could have foreseen the lengthy injury list.

The worst CL record is 100% GvB and his player’s fault, 6 games the were on the pitch for all of them he was in the dugout for all of them. You can state reasons for why it happened but the blame lands at their feet. To be that schite in all 6 games is 100% on them

posted on 15/6/23

Did someone say it wasn't their fault?

As I said bizarre

The champs league thing is nothing, he took you to a european final.

What a trade that is

The team got sucked up in the momentum of the support after beating Dortmund.

The thing he did that would have be done differently under Gerrard was dropping Lundstram into the back line when we were up over there. That was his one and only masterstroke because it allowed us to win the game with a margin and the support and team did the rest.

Obv it was their fault who else’s is

Are you saying Celtic wouldn’t have had a worse campaign if they had 5th and 6th choice centre backs?

He’ll get way more than that if he needs or wants it. Nobody’s nippy. It was just a silly statement to make when you consider the club are on bended knees trying to bring him back.

It’s as likely Beale will be given £10-15m this window. And there’s a world of differences in finances.

Silly statement

How is it not fair to hold the worst CL record against Gio?

It's absolutely fair, it was his team, was him that was in charge, and it was him that oversaw those results

The fact we went to the Europa League final, and got past PSV...to then produce that, imho, makes it even worse

We were capable of far better performances than that, Goldson being part of the team or not....we were fcking awful

Walter Smith got us to the UEFA Cup final, and then months later he oversaw us being turfed out of Europe early doors at Kaunas....we also lost Euro qualifiers in the 90s to teams like IFK Gothenburg and AEK Athens under his leadership

Walter took the cop for all of those results, because we were the best team in the country by far and were capable of far better performances in Europe than that.......yet Gio is to be let off scot free, or we have to go easy on him for producing utter dross in last year's Champions League

No....sorry....we were awful and he was the manager, deserves all the criticism he gets for it
