Yes, this is sad news. John Hollins was one of my favourites representing Chelsea. He always seem to have boundless energy. What a joy to watch and a truly great midfielder.

I have had the pleasure of playing against John, for the RAF in a behind closed doors game at RAF Uxbridge against QPR just after he joined them in 1975. He was a very good player and came across as a very nice person. He was approachable and happy to chat to us in the players lounge after the game.
I can see a lot of his personality in his son Chris when he is broadcasting. R.I.P John 🌹

I was there that day he scored that goal against Arsenal that was considered by many to be one of the greatest goals ever seen at the Bridge. RIP Ollie

Old school player. Saw him play many times in the 1960s. True professional.
