He’s either brilliant or terrible. Half of the games he went missing and couldn’t hit a barn door - particularly key ones. In fairness we were very good going forward last season and created loads of chances. We just had the worst defence pretty much in the entire top 4 divisions.

He’s a squad player for you guys at best - would be better off at somewhere like Everton or Bournemouth

Well by my definition if a player is either brilliant or horrendous and you don’t know which you’re getting - then by a top PL clubs standard - that’s a bit of a shiiiit signing.

I’m always honest about players leaving the club. I said Maguire was garbage when we got £80m for him. None of the United fans would have it - said I was bitter etc

Barnes is miles behind Maddison. Maddison is now a consistently top player - that’s the difference

Yeah Barnes is definitely a bit of a punt IMO. 50m for the pair seems reasonable

Maddison surely has loftier ambitions than Spurs?

Could probably get £40m for Maddison, don’t think we need to take any less than that. Unlike Tielemans there’s actual interest in him. Barnes has 2 years left and worth £30m by todays standards

They’re Man City levels of rich with an ambitious board who have had the sense to put the right DoF in charge, hire Howe and push into the CL already. They’re going places - everyone knows they’re part of the top 6 and a future top 4 club with their wealth.

Spurs on the other hand have got a bald midget in charge who cares more about counting money than spending it and are run like a circus

I don't think that's necessarily true. People say that all the time, and all the time clubs outside the CL sign decent players. And tbf Newcastle do seem to be doing it somewhat reasonably. They're not going to throw money at Maddison if he wants to play for us
