With CL football it's not just the XI we should be worried about.
Having said that i'm not sure he even improves the bench.
Can't see a midfield 3 of Havertz, Ode and Rice (if we sign him)
Way too lightweight.
Havertz will probably be fighting Jesus for his position, and a versatile option for elsewhere.
Havertz and Jesus competing to see who can play as a number 9 the worst.

Hopefully not. We need a solid midfield duo
Havertz is not a striker or CF. I don’t get it. He’s also not a CM. He’s more suited to CAM.
We need an out and out CF that scores goals.
Jesus needs to be shipped to the bench- if we really want to compete for trophies
If Partey stays then it will be -
Rice----------Ode
------Partey-------
With Havertz coming in to cover Rice or Ode position and more than likely Jesus at times. We have Trossard, ESR, and Nelson to cover the wide areas. Kai can fill in there too, if ever required. I think Balo leaves, and Eddie is 2nd/3rd choice striker.
He seems a bit like our signing of Richarlison. Doesn't make the first X1, but supposedly good cover for a lot of positions. Seems a very expensive option for what he offers.
I hope he works out as well as Richarlison has for us!

This would be my ideal option. Rice and Partey in the centre would be a solid pairing that would benefit Odegaard.
Eddie to be sold and Balogun to compete with Jesus would be nice!
I'd prefer Balo to stay and Eddie to leave, but I think he's too ambitious to be 2nd/3rd choice AND sign a new contract. 2yrs left so I think he has to sign something or leave - that's what we prefer to do nowadays.
You can't see Havertz as an improvement over Xhaka or Rice over Partey?
Havertz actually played ACM in Germany where scouts thought so highly of him, Chelsea paid £90m for his services. And you seriously don't think he is better than someone who never played that position before?
Rice is considered the best DM in the world. And you don't think he is better than Partey?
Is this a wum?
Think he’ll be a superb signing for Arsenal. He is as one of the most talented players in world football when he signed for Chelsea and he wouldn’t be the first player to fail there and fulfil their talents elsewhere (Salah, De Bruyne anyone?).

Honest question, do you think Havertz would be happy with covering for other players for playing time? I'd assume, and I could be well wrong, that he might have spoken to Arteta about playing time?

Salah I'll give you, although 6 months isn't 3 years.
De Bruyne didn't fail at Chelsea. He was outstanding in every loan, looked good in the brief cameos he was given, and was sold by Mourinho prematurely. Didn't get a chance is a fairer assessment.

These are still very much up in the air. Havertz has not proven in any way he'd do a better job than Xhaka in the position. He looks a lot more lightweight. His displays in Germany is irrelevant. There's a long list of PL flops who were stars in the Bundesliga.
Rice is considered the best DM in the world by who?

If Arteta rotates the first eleven properly this season then there will be plenty of game time for him, no problem.
Plus, it's very difficult to predict anything at the moment until our midfield transfers (in and out) is completed. It may well be Havertz in the Xhaka role, and Rice in the number 6. Personally I think that weakens the midfield from last season, but I trust Arteta knows what's he doing..... I hope!
