Who says there isn't plenty of transfer activity, just because the club don't choose to share it with every Joe "ITK"?

Be patient. Levy knows what he's doing.

The approach to who we are targeting and what is being reported in the media, seem more fitting to the way we want to play under Ange, and less like when we just went after the best players but getting no one, so that's a plus!

nobody was denying that Ange was already involved now. people were laughing at you for saying you're not impressed so far, when it's not even July yet.

Where did I say "not impressed"? Also, we are not in July yet and we are are now linked with 6 players and have 2 singings - though one was Kulu

I’m just going to wait until the tranny window is over before I make any sort of emotional investment.

I’ve seen it all before.

The Raya situation last week was classic Spurs. Not saying the Italian lad won’t turn out to be a really good keeper - I have no idea what he’s like. Unless Ange told Levy he wanted him instead of Raya (which we’ll probably never know) then it’s classic Spurs.

I can’t remember a transfer window that I would rate more than a 5 in so long. Maybe last Jan with Bents and Kulu because they made such an impact an 8.

I don’t want to be a “bedwetter”, even though I was called this for daring to suggest Conte might not be the messiah
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Raya situation is exasperated by the cheating clubs like Chelsea who lavished gold bullions on every player they approached and now all the chairmen are dreaming of getting over inflated fees!

I think the current approach is much more calculated/planned when I see who we are linked with,

Anyone can rate transfer windows in hindsight and look smart or moan about everything and gloat after. It's boring.

What's really tiring though, is assuming that any player not in the PL or not really expensive is just 'classic Spurs'. Maybe we're actually just scouting properly so we don't end up with another Sanchez or Ndombele? Maybe paying the most money for a player you've heard of doesn't make them better?

So, links with other players are positive and shows our manager taking action, but links of Kane moving on are just rumours?

My point exactly, I think.

Nope not at all but ok

And yes it is pretty reductive to claim 'you've seen it all before' with the Raya situation when our most expensive signings and notable flops were picked out by the manager. It's not a valuable or interesting opinion to say players that turned out good were good signings.. if you learned anything from Kulusevski and Bentancur it should be that the less fancied options often turn out better

posted on 24/6/23

Have Spurs actually signed anyone yet ? Other than Kulusevski, can't see anything has changed, appears to me that Levy is still shopping for the cut price options, this Brentford Goalkeeper is proven in prem league, surely that counts for something

Honestly, I'm not sure what you're wittering about. You're just repeating what we all know about the past. Yes we facked up with Saha and Nelsen, and did great with Kulusevski and Bentancur. So we can know that the past doesn't necessarily decide the future.

Each and every season is different, that's why football and sport in general is interesting. You haven't seen a Postecoglou Spurs. You don't know what's going to happen any more than anyone else. Fair enough have your opinion but trying to make out like you know is silly.

I'm curious that you say you'll get excited. What criteria do the signings have to fulfill for you? I'm taking it that Raya would have got you excited but Vicario doesn't. Would Tapsoba excite you less if he cost 20m?

Let's be honest, we got spoiled with big money transfers like we did getting CL under Poch. I'm heartened to see the club starting to realise maybe we got ahead of ourselves and instead of acting like Chelsea we need to act like clubs outperforming their budgets like Brighton.

To clarify my third point above, what's a 'top CB'? Tapsoba is playing for a mid German team but would be hella expensive. Koulibaly was undoubtedly a CB with a top reputation.. Are we looking at top stats? International appearances? Really tall and fast?

Hopefully when City are found guilty of their 115 financial breaking of the rules, then City will be thrown out of the Prem. I doubt Kane will want to play League 2 or lower football just yet.

Get over it. It’s nasty rule bending and it’s a nightmare for owners who do t want to invest in their playing staff but they will get away with it.

I’ve recently realised the difference in owners:
Type 1 - to make more money (ENIC and Glazers)
Type 2 - already have all the money they could ever need so want to win (Chelsea, City, Newcastle)

You can’t really argue with that. Levy is in it for the money - The Sheikh for the trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No way am I getting over cheating. You may, but without integrity in sport, there really is no point in it. The Sheikhs are in it for cheating, which you appear to be condoning.
