I will be amazed if we get top 4 next season, delighted but amazed. I think we are doing okay on the ins and outs and think we have a few to go yet and I think we will definitely do better than last year. I just think most of the teams that finished above us are also rebuilding or tweaking their sqiads and have a good head start. We are even tweaking, it's more like a major overhauls so I think what the squad will need most is time.

Yes, i agree top four is a reach, we are under going a major overhaul.

Your bang about the other sides positions with their squads they are ahead in terms of being settled & make up.

Afc with Rice & Havertz is a an upgrade.

Havertz? there is a gifted player in there.

You did rightly say no one invests that type of money without a plan, which i absolutely agree with.

But lets face it , the plan was off the chart, the Saudi thing was a surprise.

Although I was aware that the Saudis were long time significant investors in Clearlake.

Any way it looks like FFP for this period is covered.

The strength of spending so far shows a significant commitment , but it is half done, as the key positions / problems have not been nailed down.

At this point i think they are going to go all in , to leave it would imo weaken Poch's hand , against 4/5 sides.

City & Afc will more than likely maintain top 4.

After that its:

LVP, far from perfect , but likely to get a top four:

Utd, again as yet not doing enough.

Newcastle, yeah buzzing, but to maintain will be difficult , as well C/L , that will effect them.

Villa, Thsp, and the rest we should be in front.

Imo if the club can bring in, Caicedo , and top quality G/K, C/H & a striker we may have an outside shot.

The biggest issue is the lack of experience imo.

Spent £600m and finished miles behind us, but suddenly you will finish above us?

Even by circumventing the rules, Chelsea will find it hard to break into top 8 - let alone top 4

Poch to get the sack by Xmas - now that's a certitude there!

Can’t see us getting top 4. We need cms and another striker though in order to challenge.

You conceded over 60 goals, we conceded 47, the same as Liverpool. The team that finished third scored less than you, 20 more than us. If we can fix that area, and we will have to wait and see, then it's not really much of a stretch. Even if Harry isn't learning Germam by then.

We won't be finishing top 4 this season andI think/hope the focus will be on improving what we have to a level where next summer we are in a position to buy a couple of players that will make us a genuine top 4vteam again,

But right now, there are simply too many new players and too many established players leaving simultaneously for us to bounce back into top 4

Yes, this is the issue, too many new players finding their feet, with too many ( spine) established players on their way out.

But, that may be , i really think that the bullish approach set in motion through out last season has put the new owners over a barrel, in as much , loosing C/L football this season is a blow to the finance model, but for this season i think that they will throw what is left of the kitchen at the problem.

Correctly as has been discussed simply throwing money at certain problems will not guarentee the desired outcome.

I do actually feel that they will at this point back Poch to the best of their financial capability.

At this point imo i hope the club will bring in experience, mid to late 20s players, who have some chance of hitting the ground running.

Going out on a limb , what two players do you think we most.

Id go with a defensive midfielder & an out and out goal scorer.

Absolute uproar if Chelsea spend in excess of 300m this summer

If we are clear of the current FFP requirement, which i think we are. ( clearing the 120m - 3 season loss allocation, by the end of this month )

I think the club will spend again & another 150/200m on top of the 90m spent on Nkunku & Jackson

I would genuinely be surprised if we didn't.

Cfc as always , straight as an arrow.

For us to get back into the top 4 all I think we need is a proper medical department to stop us picking up silly muscular injuries. If we get 7 or 8 players playing 30+ PL games including James, Forfana, Chilwell, Enzo and Nkunku then I think we will finish top 4.

Agreed the injury issue is a vulnerability, loosing James, Chillwell repetitively has effected us.

Spot on. Chelsea are currently a shambolic mess. Pochettino won't last until Xmas. They have the most clueless owner in football. Totally out of his depth. Long may it continue.
