1. The very late winner v Port Vale away.
2. Beating Leeds 3-2 on my first time stood in the Popside when Franny Lee and Norman Hunter had a punch-up. Roger Davies' winner was a beauty.

1. I don't really have any special memories of last season, I did like how Wildsmith, Forsyth, Cashin and Didzy played.

2. This is much easier! As you all know my all time favourite King Kevin was a brilliant buy and I remember when he scored the only goal away to QPR in 1967. When I was walking out of the ground I got spun round and hit in the face by a QPR fan. (see I knew you'd like it) I ended up in the QPR dressing room getting stitched up (that's with a needle, not like Boris was!) and had a chat to Rodney Marsh, nice bloke. A court case followed and I got enough compensation to buy 3 season tickets.

2B. My favourite goal at the BBG was when Hinton ran down the left wing, waited and crossed a lovely ball to the rampaging Ronnie Webster who headed it in...fantastic.

Collins missing an open goal from 1 yard out against Barnsley when it was almost impossible to miss. Never seen a miss like it in 60 years of watching football. I gave up on Collins after that.

Beating Leeds in 1972 and going top of the first division, suddenly realising we could actually win the thing. Brought back down to earth the next game when we somehow lost at home to Newcastle but we prevailed in the end.

I missed that game v Leeds, Spart, but was at the Easter Monday game afterwards v Newcastle. I don't think we'd have scored if we'd still been playing now? Over 38,000 in the BBG and if I remember correctly, it was the only game we lost at home all season?

It was the last Derby game my mum went to, and she's still alive now at 90.

What were you saying at the time VC which provoked that yob to smack you one? Or was it a totally random and unprovoked assault? Anyway, good to know you got some compensation.

I'd not spoken to him before, he saw my black and white scarf and belted me. In court he said he was a sewer worker and the judge said he would be better off staying underground. I reckon he would be in trouble if he said that now.

The court case was in the DET on the same day Alan Hinton was signed by BC. I've still got the clipping.

So I guess you were a mere lad at the time?

"Well said", judge, say I.

Like Scouse, the win at Port Vale last season was utterly magnificent.

The win at Bramhall Lane in 1987.
