But RDD said he was signing a new deal
In all seriousness - it's time for him to go but I hope he's remembered fondly by our fanbase. Love the guy.
Fantastic club servant - People will forget how great he was post Sir Alex.
Surely, with this departure, it means the club has secured André Onana?
We’ll be screaming for him in 4 months after Onana costs us yet another goal

Some on here will be for sure!
Has anyone checked on hafi? Is he drunk, downing screenshots just now?
Thank you David. Arguably our best overall player post SAF but the right time to go. I wish him all the best for the rest of his career.

3 x charity shields
A man of his talent really deserved so much more.
Not bothered by this at all. He is not good enough anymore before we even talk about his poor command of the box and his god awful distribution.
It's a shame it ended the way it has done but this absolutely needed to happen for us to move forward.
I just wish he hadn't spent most of his time at the club during a period of decline and had a bit more to show for his 12 years.
No surprises here. The writing was on the wall when his contract lapsed. A new keeper is obviously a priority for ETH above a striker. Hopefully we can get both.
All the best to De Gea. Been a great servant.

No Keeper made more errors leading to goals that DDG did. He was joint top with Lloris.
So we should be fine.
We can’t complain. The club paid less than £19 million for him in 2011. A great ROI over the twelve years. However, when an asset becomes a liability then it is time to invest elsewhere.

Probably still trying to lose his virginity
Hafi is going to full on Randy Marsh when he gets the internet back
Deserved a proper send off at OT with a full crowd.

Funny that three of the best value for money signings the club has ever made have come at GK: Schmeichel, then VDS, then De Gea.
All absolutely incredible returns for the investment.
It was time to go, probably if his wages were lower a couple of seasons ago if we’d had the right manager at the time, but he’s a club legend. One of our best GK and the best in the world for a period.
So many games in his time here we’ve been absolutely pummelled and got a result because of him, that performance vs Arsenal was insane. Was watching with an Arsenal fan and he was in bits cursing De Gea as some kind of superhuman that wouldn’t let them score.
Romano update just now;
Next steps for André Onana deal 🔴🇨🇲
◉ New direct contacts between Inter and Man United over the weekend;
◉ Official final bid next week to be accepted;
◉ Clubs hope to have documents ready around Weds/Thurs;
◉ Onana already agreed terms with Man Utd.
Matter of days 🏁
Let’s hope Onana gives us 12 years of world class service too
For footballing reasons I’m glad he’s gone. But the club have dealt with this terribly and De Gea deserved much better, and a send off, for all he’s done for us. He’s a United legend as far as I’m concerned.

Isn’t Jones now the last known survivor of SAF? Or has he left
