All sounds very positive. Fair play to Daniel Levy.

Still a bit annoyed over the big price hikes though.

According to Romano that deal will be announced today. Hopefully then there are zero distractions until the new CB is in - get that done in time for Aus and my optimism levels will rise

Main problem is ....is Kane going to stay?
Would 400K GBP per week make him to highest paid premiership player?

Ans what salary are Bayern offering?

Ted, plenty of Prem players are already on £400 grand. The way Man City fiddle the books, wouldn't be surprised if Haaland isn't on double that.

I reckon Levy will refuse all offers for Kane in the hope we win a cup this year or at the least qualify for the CL , our either happens I reckon Kane will sign a new contract.

He won’t trouble the first choice attackers, but did well coming off the bench for Fulham last season so hopefully can do similar for us. If he doesn’t work out we can sell next summer at a profit.

I’ve checked, he definitely can’t play centre back either

Bayern won’t get near £400k. Allegedly PSG are also circling though, they could afford to pay Kane triple that

his PL stats this season are:

19 games.
15 as a substitute
561 minutes played
4 goals
0 assists

Right footed, likes to play from the left and cut in & shoot.

Could be a useful impact sub, especially is Son isnt delivering or injured.

Lewandowski was on 400k a week, probably Euros, but he came on a free

Mane is on 360k euros a week, but he came for 30m euros, 3 year deal.

Basically if Munich were to put together an 80m offer + 400k a week wages they'd be outlaying £140m - £160m on Kanes contract (3 or 4 yrs) with no resale. Best part of £40m - £50m per season and that would be way more than any package they have done for any player in their history.

De Ligt for example was a £60m signing and is on 260k a week, 5 year deal, age 23 = about £25m a season all in and will have value aged 28 at the end of it.

Munich are a rich club but they never tend to do deal like this. Hence their low balling offers.

I just dont see it happening.

They are a faaacking pain though. If Levy says £150m, it will scare Bayern off but you wouldn’t put it past PSG or even a desperate United. So instead we have to keep just saying no whilst they seem to announce every faaacking bid in the media.

I read a report where they said Levy had changed his mind on Kane's value, thinking he may have considered lowering it from 100m. Instead they reported he's now slapped a 120m price tag on

The way i view this is that Kane cost us nothing, so makes no contribution to our amortisation costs. We do not need to sell to buy. Our Profit on player sales from 2016 to 2022 has been £10m-£40m with the exception of 2017 when we sold Walker & Bentaleb and showed £70m profit. On average over 7 years its been about £30m per season.

This shows we do not rely so much on players OUT to balance the books. Compare that to Chelsea and they have made £640m profit on player trading over 6 years, contributing about £110m per season to their books, much of theirs is through their very successful academy but it is still a source of income they heavily rely on, while still showing big losses.

So Spurs are set up to not rely on sales, and the natural turn over of players like Winks, Bergwjin, Fyoth keep this ticking over. A few more sales this summer will see this figure hit about the average £30m.

We can therefore, take a punt on Kane and hope he re-signs, but if he goes for nothing our financial position is barely affected, albeit that he'll need replacing, but a £50m player over 5 years is only a £10m hit per season and you'd probably save £5m of that on Kane's lost wages.

£50m gets you Richarlison, we will need to be prepared to pay £80m-£100m I think, and probably over two players.

2 of Vlahovic, Brennan Johnson, Evan Ferguson or Ivan Toney - could be nearer £120m. I think that would be our best chance of not sinking like a stone when Kane goes.

Surprised we haven’t tested the waters for Toney - see if we can get him at a big discount because of his ban

That would make sense. A fairly natural replacement & Juve need to sell so a deal could be done. Can see may be United going for him if they fail elsewhere in the market.

In an accounting sense it's one thing but cashing in on Kane for say 100m may still make good financial sense in a more literal sense rather than losing him on a free next year.

Would depend on who you could get in to replace him, definitely not an easy like for like job but there may be a plenty that suits the managers style more

Kane is at the peak of his career, I don`t get why he would want to leave the best league in the world to join another league, all in the hunt for a few cheap medals.

Staying at Spurs and winning just 1 medal would be worth more than moving to somewhere like Bayern and winning several where they are ten a penny.

Incredibly unlikely he'll win anything with Spurs though. Maybe a league cup if you get a favourable draw?
