Don't mind the result. First match. Plenty of positives. Good to see 22 players get minutes under their belt.

Plenty for Ange to ponder. GLC looked good. Playing Emerson in the Stones role was interesting. I think that role would suit Spence more than Porro and Emerson.

Rico had chances, Perisic played well too. Good for Device even though he played out of position. Sarr much better than Skipp but final decision at times needs improving.

PEH played loved ball in the first 5 mins which split their defence. Sanchez and Emerson at fault for their 3rd goal. But that's also the risk of playing a high line.

The football from us was top notch.

Attacking build up play was excellent.
New signings all looked decent, maybe hard to tell about the keeper though.
Finishing was below par.

Defending was hilariously bad. So far we've managed to weaken one of the worst defences in the league last season.

For the first game in a new era I was pretty impressed...OK our defense is abysmal but it serves to point out to Levy where we are severely lacking.

But will he address the obvious?

I think I'd be more worried if we got a great result and were starting out of the blocks under Ange. Most of us expect it's going to be a bit shaky while we transition to a new style.

I heard we played well at times and the defence was rubbish. Probably the result we needed. Gives encouragement while keeping the spotlight on the defence and reminding Baldy that new defenders are required desperately.

Shipping goals in comical fashion was the best thing to happen, Ange will now know (if he didn`t already) that the current personnel are not up to it.

Imagine if we had kept a clean sheet and looked solid at the back, Levy will have been telling Ange to stick with the current mob.

you'll honestly need a world class cb to play how he wants to play, and 2 equally good CDM's.

didn't see the game but 32 shots to west hams 7, while conceding 3 goals paints and odd picture.

friendlies are nonsense anyway.

The Optus stadium is not far from where I live, so I popped along.

Good game for a friendly, 5 goals. Spurs looked like they wanted to walk it into the net at times, but it is a friendly so no real urgency I guess.

Looking forward to seeing how ange's tottenham do in the premier league this season.

True but I think it's good for Ange to want to take responsibility.

it's a fair point to be honest, the priority is getting the full backs and the midfielders used to his system.

a little reckless not to focus on a key area like that though.
