Wober was one of those that earlier in the window was supposed to be wanting to stay to help the club get get back up.
I think what has happened is that after the club has shown zero ambition in the transfer market to reflect this he has had second thoughts.
I cannot blame him for wanting to go to a club where the owners clearly give a toss, ours don't.
Wober said that he was happy to stay but a transfer bid for him could change all that. Obviously it has. Didn't see him as a world beater, but he looked a cut above the rest of our defenders. Cooper is now arguably our best CB and he's injury prone and one of the players a lot wanted moving on.
Absolute shambles. I sincerely hope we find another steal like Jansson out there somewhere or pull another Ben White / Bartley out of the hat as we look shot at the back.
Thought he was another average player, no loss, but I’d rather get 5m than p around with loans like this.
Remember when we went down 20 years ago it was termed doing a leeds.
We’ve just outdone ourselves.
Get relegated loan out all the players you could have sold and funded next players, doing a leeds part 2.
When did Wober say he wanted to stay 🤷🏻♂️
Leedslive did this article
The Austrian was commanding and as impressive as he could be in a defence which was badly malfunctioning around him last term. Wober is understood to have made it clear he wants to play on in the second tier and assuming unforeseen interest does not materialise, he will be a strong candidate for starting regularly in the Championship.”
Then everyone carries it and it because the truth.
These websites are very clever, using terms like “is understood”.
I mean what does that mean 🤷🏻♂️
Just guesess, and the fanbase laps it up
Started well and became just another mediocre CB along with the rest. 16 league games for £11m transfer fee…whores the feckin lot of them!
It will be interesting to see how many games he stays fit for.... he did get injured a lot and at the most viral times for us so trying to put a positive spin on his departure I doubt he would have lasted more than 20 games in the bruising environment of the Championship.
Madness that we returned to the Austrian league that gave us Rasmus and Brendan for nearly £40m when neither had performed well.
Wober was ok. Slight improvement on some others but always seemed to make a clanger of a pass that we got away with.
I'd imagine that the fact we don't seem to be able to sell Harrison, Firpo, or Adams because of injuries, as well as Meslier, means that we have needed to shift different players to bring the wage bill down. Obviously not ideal.
Just copying what i put on another thread earlier.
Its madness to think any player who has this loan clause in their contract would stay. They probably would have to take around a fifty percent pay cut to play in the championship due to the relegation clauses. Then another club comes in and offers them the same wage as they were on in PL or similar. Why would they stay at Leeds? Its a fairly short career. Blame Orta for putting these stupid clauses. That guy was a menace to the club

We heard a lot of people say they would all have 50%/60% wage reduction clauses in contracts.
Now people trying to justify loans out by saying getting wages off, can't really have it both ways.
But here is the thing. I think Orta crap at spotting players, but I dont believe he was the one putting clauses in.
And with 49ers as substantial owners, the leader of whom is a self confessed negotiator and contract fanatic, there is simply no way the 49ers weren't aware of this and interestingly it seems like only last seasons signings had these stupid loan clauses.
Aaronson, Koch, Roca, Wober, Llorente, Rasmussen....even if you lose 50% of your money on them, that's still 45m you'd expect to get which help funds promotion push.
We have been royally screwed over and the only ones complaining about it is the manager and the fans, not the "new" owners.
Nah it was definitely Orta.
This just confirms we'll stumble out the starters gate.
Not expecting many wins in the first 10 games.
Capology lists Jack H as being on 90k a week. Quite
a few others 'nursing injuries' are also on big wages.
Spectacular mess United.
Anyone dead certain the following players
really want to stay and fight for the cause:
Meslier
Gnonto
Summerville
Jack
Firpo
Struijck
Adams
All either 'nursing injuries' or reported to want out
or both. Does Drameh really want to be here?
I think the only two players who have genuinely come out and said they want to stay are Ayling and Cooper.

Oh, thank Goodness for that! And there was me thinking we’re ferrucked.
Koch - 12.5m, out on loan
Kristensen - 12m, out on loan
Wober - 12m, out on loan
Aaronson - 25m, out on loan
Roca - 10m, out on loan
Llorente - 18m, out on loan
Roberts - 2.5m, sold for 500k
Rodrigo - 27m, sold for 3m
119m Spent, 3.5m recouped.
An absolute disgrace
Guess who pocketed the commissions?
As a club, we seem to have (incredibly) found
a new way to fck up relegation. Amazing. Leicester
and Southampton (and every club that hates us)
must be p1 zzing themselves with laughter.

Sadly, and sincerely, yes.
All of these loanees can fck off as far as I'm concerned.
Scr3w this idea that IF we somehow get back up, they'll
come waltzing back to grace us with their presence.
If all they're bothered about is the money, fine. Just go
fck yourself and get that money elsewhere. Tw4 ts.
