Oppenheimer was much better than Barbie.
Barbie was good though
Nolan is a genius too.

He is. No doubt.
My wife was a bit of Tomboy as a kid and played with lads mostly. She played footy and with cars etc. She's not interested in watching Barbie at all which suits me just fine. 😂
I'm not really a big fan of Nolan's work generally but this was easily my favourite of his film's and the best film I've seen this decade

She'd be all over that for sure. And if Chris Hemsworth played the leading role then my word I'd never hear the end of it.

How does it compare to his other movies in terms of quality? If you're like me and think Dunkirk and Tenet were decidedly weaker than what came before, is it better than them?
Nolan aint made a grate moovie since Inception tbf

Much better than both. I didn't care for Tenet that much myself. Thought it was too complex for its own good.
I enjoyed Dunkirk though. Thought it was great.

I didn't think either were bad movies. Dunkirk is a well done, well shot movie, but I didn't find it particularly entertaining compared to previous movies.
His films have gradually declined since Inception, yes, so good to know this bucks that trend.
Interstellar was magnificent I thought. Can't understand how anyone who likes his work didn't enjoy that film. I loved it.
Dunkirk was a solid 7 or 8 out of 10. Not spectacular but still enjoyable and some incredibly moving sequences.
Tenet didn't land for me though like I hoped it would. It just had too many layers to unpick to enjoy. Nice concept but I don't think it was his finest work either.
Memento, The Dark Knight and The Prestige are among his best work for me. He's made some utterly amazing films and Oppenheimer is right up there for sure.

Looking forward to seeing it, says a lot about the world we now live that a film about a doll that wears pink is getting the same attention
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no intention of seeing Barbie either tbh despite it featuring Margot Robbie.
Can't deny the important and significance that toy has had on the world though and for girls in particular. I see the attraction. We just aren't the target audience.
Oppenheimer on the other hand will blow your mind though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’d be surprised who the target audience actually is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn’t men, that is for sure. There was not one guy that I saw coming out the the screen it was showing on. All teeenage and young girls and loads of them dressed up Barbie style as well.
Cillian Murphy delivered the best acting performance I have seen for at least 20 years in this film for me. Absolutely incredible.
……..
He was very very good but I wouldn’t quite go that far. Not as good as Gary Oldman in Churchill or Colin Firth in the Kings Speech.
Not far off mind.
RDJ should win best supporting actor.
Lol
If Barbie was a real person her resume wud b mind-blowing
Did you watch it in IMAX?
Having been to Hiroshima this year I am keen to watch Oppenheimer. That said, having rubbed one out to several Barbie like lasses online I will also go see Barbie.
That final scene at the pond nearly broke me
Yep amazing film. Had I not read American Prometheus I’m not sure I’d have followed it so well. May go and watch again whilst it’s screening.
